- cindyb| 3 repliesI received a call from this number and have had mixed reponses from Wells Fargo as to its legitimacy. Its odd because I don't have a WF loan with them and the call was from the collection department...I don't know why they would be calling. They asked me to key in a loan number or social security number.
I wouldn't trust this number! Call Wells Fargo Main line instead.- Caller: purported to be wells fargo
- Call type: Debt collector
- J| 2 repliesIt's listed here. Looks legit
https://www.wellsfargo.com/mortgage/account/stayontrack - Mike| 6 repliesIt is legit it is their loss mitigation line and they may have bought your loan from the original lender they do that a lot. to avoid these calls pay your bills
- Caller: Wells Fargo
- MADYes it is Wells Fargo $50.00 short out of $1556.00, dumb go call someone that is behind 3 months or more. I just made a payment
Looking at the above comments- Caller: Wells Fargo
- upset| 3 repliesHad the nerve to call me at 9:22 p.m. I have it on my cell phone bill
no message 6 calls a day on my cell these people must be stopped - JoJust got a call from them again. It stopped for a while, but they are at it again!.. Why?. because this is the 7th, and the payment hasn't been made?. The payment isn't late!. But they call me at work as well. Why?. This is harassment, and I'm not behind!. 22 yrs, they've been paid every month!. BUT it's getting down close to being paid off, and I think they just want to have control. I'm sure they will just JUMP on it if I do miss a payment!.
- UCB| 7 repliesSCAM! Do not call. If you do have a WF mortgatge, look up & call that # directly.
They just left a message on a university's tech support hotline. I think the # that the call came from was 800-678-7986
The message: "this is Amy from Wells Fargo calling about your mortgage. Please call 1-800-848-9862."
Not likely our IT dept bought a house. - Yea replies to UCB| 6 repliesYou're an idiot like 90% of the people posting. It's listed on the wells fargo home mortgage web page.
- jaybee| 2 repliesIt is Wells Fargo; I am behind (trying to catch up) and they do call quite a bit (as is their right since I am behind).
- Caller: Wells Fargo
- Call type: Debt collector
- Kat replies to jaybee| 1 replyYea it is WF. I got familiar with the number last year when i broke my arm and could not work for three months. typically they do not leave a message, sometimes they do and it is the recording saying to call. If you answer you get transferred to a human.
- MollyThey called me about my mortgage . . . But I have never owned a house!
- Caller: WF
- Call type: Debt collector
- X-Banker replies to cindybWFB mortgage company. If they don't get the payment by the due date, the very next day they put you on the robo-dialer … even though you have 14 days before it's officially "late", i.e. they hit you with a late fee. Send a brief note by snail mail to the address on your statement for correspondence and tell them they're no longer allowed to contact you by phone and that all contact must be written. They will stop calling (by law) and probably won't send mail until you've been delinquent 30 days. If you know you're going to be 30 days late, call them & give them a heads-up … they'll be nice & work with you (only because they want your acct. to be current - delinquent accounts make their numbers look bad - not because they care anything about you or any other of their millions of customers..

- Fred replies to Yea| 1 replySo why would they be calling me at work when I don't have any accounts with WF personal or Business? I can see that they have called me 4 times today so it must be urgent. I wish I was at my desk when they called, hopefully they will call back.
- SashaI just got a new phone for Christmas and from the time my husband had the phone turned on a week ago till I opened it yesterday there were 10 calls from this number and bright and early this morning , Dec 26 they were calling me. I explained that the Robert they were looking for no longer had this phone...She of course acted like she believed me so Sprint is going to give me a new phone number, just easier than me arguing and being treated rudely by these people..
- Caller: Bank of America

- meadowlarkI keep getting calls from this number. I called it back because it is on the wells fargo home mortgage page. BUT I don't have a loan with them and they wanted the last four of my social security and I'm not about to give that out. Maybe I'll answer it next time they call which seems to be often. If they called me there's no reason they need my social security. I will ask them to stop the calls and if they don't I will talk with WF bank manager next time I'm in there. I do have a savings account with them.
- TSGI dont think its really wells fargo when I call it back I get a "call cannot be placed message", and I made my payment before it was due, customer service confirms they have the payment and that no one is trying to get a hold of me from WF, the robo dialer calls on the 14th but this # has been calling since the 1st and it is not a machine it is a person asking me for my account info, when I ask what it is regarding they say they cannot tell me 'till I verify my account info I never give my info unless I am making the call and know who I am talking to not to people who call me asking for info.

- TSG replies to upsetLook into FDCPA, they can get fined $1,000 which is paid to you if a debt collector calls after 9pm or before 8am and it sounds like you got proof from your call log or bill.
- turnercThat number apparently remains active though I did not talk to them personally and don't know for a fact the purpose of the call. As the other reporter, we have not account with WF.
- EMGIt's Wells Fargo. If you have a loan modification with them and If you don't pay your bill on the first (and technically payment is due on the 15th), they will call you every day until payment is received.
Because I know it's on automatic dial, I actually pick it up, but hang up after a few seconds before a live body gets on the line, so they will stop calling for the day.- Caller: Wells Fargo
- Call type: Debt collector
