This is how you get even with them: call them from a public payphone booth.

Everytime they pick up the phone, they have to reimburse the phonecompany of that both by more than $0.50.

Calling them 10 times per day costs them more $5.00 per day.

If you get calls from this number, call it back and ask to be put on a do not solicit list so that they will not contact you with marketing calls.  I to have been getting missed calls every few days and I usually do not give my cell number out.  They were a little edgy at first until I told them that I was going to move my RRSP funds to my other financial instituation if it did not stop.  Said at least if they left a message if they needed me to call back it would be appreciated.  He said he will pass that on.  I have been removed for marketing calls now so we'll see.

I'm getting calls from this phone number twice a day, most days, but they hang up when I pick up and never leave a message. It's very strange. Now that I know who it is that's calling, I can relax a bit; I was beginning to worry.

As to the persons comment about not knowing how to operate a coffee maker or go back to high school whether this is the rbc or not they have no right to ask you for your CLIENT CARD NUMBER so be very careful.  So best you go back to school and get some street smarts.

This is the RBC making a courtesy centre...call.  It is from their actual call centre.  2 ways to stop them...

1-Give the caller when you call back, or answer, your client card # and they will put the stop in your personal profile.......I don't like doing that!!
2-As I did...go directly to your branch and ask for the client services manager.  Tell them this is annoying you and that you want your profile to show that you do not want any more client services courtesy calls.  They go into your file and change the settings while your there.

    Problem fixed-D

i received two calls from this number until now during 2 hours. and no message left. i have a mobile phone and i pay money when answering so i never reply back for someone who doesn`t leave a message.
a tip: i have an experience with the telemarketer, when they keep call you, it won`t be worthy if you tell them to stop calling you or stop bothering you, simply because the agent won`t tell the system to do it because he will be penalized by the system and his superiour. i worked the last year for telemarketing and i know it. so the only way to convince the agent to tell the system to stop calling you ,is by either telling them that `there is nobody here with this name`or in case they are trying to sell you something `i have purchased this product from you`(because they cannot know if you already bought one or not) becasue those two ways are the only ways that the agent could tell the system to stop calling you without being penalized by the system.

The most annoying thing for me was when I did answer the call, there was an automated voice saying something about a business proposition from RBC and proceeded to place me on hold so it could connect me to a telemarketer. Now I find this the most rude form of telemarketing, them interrupting you in the middle of whatever you were doing, and putting you on hold. So of course I hang up the phone and call RBC customer care in disgust as I had already opted out of telephone solicitations.

They told me it was from RBC insurance, and that they had already made the client cold call list and that it might be a month before I stopped receiving these calls.

this is making me think I should switch banks. has anyone had luck with calling the 2511 line and asking to be made 'Do Not Call?' The last DNC list I added my name to netted me ten times the tmarket calls. :P

I called up RBC and they told me that this number, in fact, ISN'T from RBC. But I'm having trouble believing them. I've also been put on the DNC list and they said it would take a month for it to come into effect. I am going to answer next time and see if this guy knew what he was talking about. I've been told conflicting information from RBC before (ie. I had to go to my branch to set up my PIN for my visa, when in fact it was the same as my client card already, pleh) so who knows? I might try Van City.

you may have unpaid bill or if you are young a student loan. Run as fast as you from them or.
If you don't have enough, or you think you may not make enough, declare bankruptcy.

    Good luck

1-800-769-2510 is dutifully calling my cell in Toronto twice a day for last two weeks at least. I am a RBC customer and also on Canadian DNC. I picked twice. First time, I said Hello ... nobody answered. Second time, I said Hello ... some lady said: Oh, it's not "Laura" and the hung-up quickly on me (I am a male). I highly doubt that it is a real RBC. It look's like that somebody is somehow faking-up RBC's number on the Call Display. Is that possible? May be somebody here can answer more better whether such a call faking is possible or not? I really do not know. Whether it's real RBC or not, but I am highly skeptical about the calls from this number.

assured me that my number had been taken off of their phone list.
The calls have started up again. Well so have my complaints to the do not call registry and to the CRTC. They just do not get the message. I do not understand how pissing people off can possibly benefit their business.

Just got a call from them, google led me to this page, and, since I bank with RBC, I decided to take the call. I was asked if I wanted to open their new savings account.

Calls from legit corporations don't bother me. I just let the answering machine take it.

On the other hand, calls from scammers and fraudsters irritate me beyond belief! Somewhere, somehow, they'll eventually rip someone off or steal their personal information. That is criminal, period. Having your identity stolen goes beyond financial issues, it is social nightmare. I don't wish it to anyone.

Please note: Some telephones have "block call" features. I just punch in the annoying scammer telephone # and that's that. They don't even get pass the first ring.

IMPORTANT: Otherwise, if you suspect fraud, scam or organized crime at work please, please, please report it to the authorities! That is the consumer's first line of defense against crime. If you're in Canada, look up Phonebusters, call your local police department or RCMP. It does make a difference. Don't rely on the Do Not Call List alone for protection.

I am getting many calls a week from these birdbrains and I am really sick of it.

Due to all the SCAMMERS out there, I now refuse to answer any 800 numbers, regardless of where it is coming from. None of them have the business name attached anyways.

Many people here say this is RBC. I have to wonder why they would harass me?? I have never ever had an RBC account and because of these idiots I never will.

I am so fed up with this and all other 800 numbers calling me relentlessly. There really should be a law against this. I am on the DNC list and it does absolutely no good. They keep calling and calling and calling.

I wish there was a way to harass them back.

They keep phoning us about a good mortgage rate. the name Is RBC. He said he works with Jeff and
Jeff who works with Royal Bank. I phoned Royal Bank and Royal Bank said that the phone number is not Royal Bank.  Royal Bank advice me to be very careful giving personal information. I believe it's a scam who is trying to get information to steal somebody's identity. Now, they just changed their phone number again because they can't get information from us.

They are calling on my work Blackberry, which I have never given out to them. If it's RBC, their process doesn't make much sense.
