call from this number three, sometimes four time a day, weekend the same. who are these people?

DCI called at my place of employment and asked for me by name.  Receptionist sent the call to my phone (caller ID showed unavailable). The caller asked if I was "...." and when asked what the call was about answered that it was a private matter and was I  "..."  I said "uhuh" and he began to talk - he did not say his name or the company name clearly and when asked to repeat, all I understood was Diversified.  I told him I was in a meeting and couldn't talk so he gave me a number to call back.

Legitimate Company.   Collection agency.  Called me 6 days in a row,  never left message.   We called them back and said enough is enough,  only to find out that they were calling a wrong number.

This number called this morning. No message. Caller id said Diversified Con.  Must be.

Some guy said he was with DCI? and said I owe money? Asked who he was trying to reach and the name he said isnt mine. I told him so and he hung up.
Caller id said Diversified Con.

It sounds like these guys love to violate the FDCP Act all over the place. Inform them that they are breaking those laws and regulations and that legal action can be taken against them if they do not stop harassing you.

Whenever I read comments from people who obviously have been taken by scam artists, I am so amazed that people actually: (1) answer unknown numbers;  2) call unknown numbers back; 3) think the call is legitimate, just because the caller gives a name, or knows their name!  HERE'S WHAT I DO: (1) DO NOT ANSWER UNKNOWN NUMBERS, (2) SEARCH FOR NUMBER IDENTITY ONLINE, (3) KEEP A RECORD OF CALLER ID INFO--date, time, number, "name, or toll free, wireless caller, anonymous, private", (4) REPORT ONLINE AT SITES SUCH AS THIS, AND "800notes.com", (5) REPORT TO AUTHORITIES, (6) BLOCK, (7) CONTACT STATE AND FEDERAL OFFICIALS TO TRY TO GET LEGISLATION--BECAUSE THE "DO NOT CALL REGISTRY" DOESN'T SEEM TO BE WORKING.

they called my former son in law looking for me! i have NO BILLS in collection

They have the wrong phone number.  It sounds like a spam call.

I guess I need to block this number.  They never leave a message and I NOT answering if I don't know who it is. I see that others are posting that these are calls  from Verizon or TMobile.  I have neither of those.  This is another scam.
