Scammers can hijack any number and use it. My boyfriend received a call from his own number on the phone that had that number

I just received a phone call from 800-771-1213 saying that my doc. Sec. benefits had been suspended. But they didn’t say any name who’s benefits were to be suspended.

They didn’t give a name on who’s Soc. Sec. had been suspended. I think it was a scam in order to get my personal info.

I had this phone number 1-(800)-722-1213 in my phone for over a year thinking it was the correct phone for the Social Security Administration & everytime I called it was a scammer recording "pretending to be the Social Security Administration" & asked me if I was interested in a "Free Medical Alert System" then press 1 or if not press 2 -- then when I pressed 2 the scammer recording "hungup" on me. I realized the scammer phone number I had in my phone was wrong by one digit & the correct phone for the Social Security Administration is 1-(800)-772-1213. I always go to the Social Security Office in person after that & don't know where I got the wrong phone number since I corrected it in my phone.

They are still at it too. Got a call this morning said they were suspending my social security number if I didn't call yet another number and if I don't well good luck. Yeah it's spam.

Received a call from this telephone number. I did answer this call due to having ordered a replacement Medicare card for an elderly relative. Heard a recorded message about fraud, law enforcement...etc. Just to be sure, I called SS and left a callback number in their automated system so I can double check that this was not a legit call.

'Ignore and go before a magistrate or grand jury for criminal offense. If I don't hear from you, I wish you A good luck.'  Number to call back is 828-483-7694. Just another of thousands of attempts to steal.

I just got a call, it was a recording telling me I was about to loose my retirement benefits and I needed to talk to on of their agents. but I'm under 25 I don't even qualify for any benefit yet.

Got a call from 1 800 772 1213, said it was Social Security threatened me and if I didn't call 828 348 9567 that they  will stop my S.S check. I would never call this # back

I received a call from a Leo Johnson saying I had a warrant out for my arrest that I supposedly had to cooperate with answers like my social and asked who I banked with and my address.. from 18007721213 so I believed it.. and I gave my info 😔

Got a call today.  I didn’t pick up.

“This is _⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_ Social Security number _⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_ _⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_ all your social benefits will be canceled until further clearance in case you feel this is as an error you may connect with legal south of Social Security Administration in order to connect with a Social Security administration officer press one now in case we do not hear from you your social will be blocked _⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_ to connect now press one and you will automatically be connected with the concern _⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_…”

These people say that your social security number has a fraud alert and want you to respond. THEY ARE NOT SOCIAL SECURITY. I called social security on this number and they said it was a scam.

Got a call saying I was doing money laundry in Texas and drug trafficking . I live in LA .

Its a scam, please don't give them any information. Pretending to be social security office. The SSA never calls, they will mail you.

Please put a alert on your SS# through the Credit Bureau right a way and have them you call for any suspicious activities.

I have received several calls from this number saying there has been questionable activity on my ss and they will be taking down my ss if I  don’t call

This is a Social Security SCAM.  If you get the recording, DO NOT press 2 - Do not give them any information at all.  They threaten to permanently block your social security number - DO NOT be scared into an being a scam victim.  If you are not sure, hang up then look up ssa.gov and get the contact number.  Call Social Security yourself and ask why they were calling you.

They asking me

Social security will not just call you.  The will send a letter FIRST informing that they will call you. I just got this call..knew right away it was off. I hung up and promptly called  SSA ( yes the same 1213 number). There were no issues, and they have no idea why someone would call. So yea.. scam.  Just go to ssa.gov or CALL them yourself.
