The scam debt collection business must be extremely lucrative.  Haven't heard from the Penn Credit scammers in quite a while, now they've started up again today.  The reason I say it's a lucrative business is that over the past couple of years, I've compiled a list of 14 debt collection agencies that I've never dealt with and that have never sent me anything about who the original creditor was, the original credit amount, the total accrued interest and penalty, etc.  A legitimate debt collector would do that, but if you're a phony to begin with, you're certainly not gonna provide that basic info.  If anybody is interested, the list includes the following scammers:

    Crawley & Bergman Debt Collectors (1 #)
    Crossings Debt Collectors (6 #'s)
    Denning Associates (1 #)
    Enhanced Recovery Corp (3 #'s)
    FF&G (Fulton, Friedman & Gullace LLC) (4 #'s)
    Midland Credit Management (4 #'s)
    Monarch Recovery Management (2 #'s)
    National Recovery Agency (1 #)
    Penn Credit (2 #'s)
    Portfolio Recovery (3 #'s)
    Trident Asset Management (2 #'s)
    United Collection Bureau (1 #)
Van Ru Credit Collections (1 #)
    Vital Recovery (4 #'s)

Avoid all of these scammers like the plague, and above all else...NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONE CALLS!!

This is an absolute Scam, debt collectors are bound by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991. Those two laws passed stipulate that a debt collector cannot contact you more than two times a week. (not a day) and cannot add you to a robocall list without your consent. They are also supposed to mini Miranda you every time you speak with them. The law also stipulates that they cannot call you before 9 am or after 9 pm which is what these parasites are also doing. Responding to these people who are not Penn credit (i know because I called the number that they are legitimately listed under will only result in more unwanted calls from more people with thick Indian accents who only want your social security number.

CHICAGO —3-19-19 Federal prosecutors say the owner of a Harrisburg debt collection company faces charges he tried to bribe county clerks in Illinois and Florida to obtain business from their offices.

Prosecutors said Friday that Penn Credit Corp. owner Donald Donagher Jr. has been indicted on six counts. Officials accuse the 67-year-old of trying to make payments to influence the Cook County Circuit Court Clerk along with three Florida county clerks.

Prosecutors accuse Donagher of making campaign donations, financially sponsoring events and providing free or discounted robocalls on behalf of certain clerks’ campaign.

Cook County Clerk Dorothy Brown’s spokeswoman says Donagher never approached Brown or her office “improperly in any way or at any time.” Donagher’s attorney, Theodore Poulos, says his client “acted legally and in good faith” and the allegations are false.

This place calls my work number multiple times every day. They even call it on the weekends when I'm not here. They never leave a message. They've been doing this for many weeks and I'm sick of it. I've read where other people have said it's a collection agency but I don't owe any money to anyone. I have no way of blocking this on my work phone so I don't know what else I can do. I never answer it.
