This phone number everyone is up in arms about is yes: None other than Penn Credit Corp. a 3rd party collections agency. Being an ex-employee of Dun & Bradstreet Receivable Management Services in the Lehigh Valley, I can let you know a little secret: These [***], are required by law to identify themselves and the company they are representing and comply with ANY and ALL requests made by the client they are attempting to reach, requests for rep id, name, supervisors name/id, phone # (if it does not already show on your caller id) and what the call is regarding. AND furthermore, they are a professional collections agency and are required to conduct themselves with the utmost courtesy and respect for the debtors or persons they call by mistake. PCC just called me on MY personal, pre-paid cell phone, looking for my father? WTF?! I have NEVER given them my cell as a means of reaching my dad. I did s/w a Mrs Tara Green who did comply and transferred me to who she claimed was her supervisor, Mr. Charles Davis who proceeded to tell me that maybe the calls from my dad's home phone somehow were forwarded to my cell. BS! My dad would need my voice mail password to do this, and I know for certain he does not have it and would not do this w/out first telling me. I gave the supervisor an earful and advised him I had been reading posts from people who are VERY unhappy with PCC's handling of their cases. I advised him of my former employment status and reminded him that rudeness or any kind of inappropriate or intolerant behavior displayed by any of his employees towards the clients his company calls to collect debts from could possibly result, if reported to the proper authorities, in fines being imposed against his company or possibly being disbanded from conducting business in the state of PA. and furthermore, any reps. who have in ANY way verbally abused, threatened, or intimidated by any means to attempt in securing payment for their firm could face possible legal action. To make a long story short: Don't take any S*** from these people. If you feel you have been verbally abused or feel that your rights as a consumer, as a human being, have been violated I have included the #'s of some agencies that may help put a stop to it. Anyone has any more questions, feel free to email me @ hellraisr1981@yahoo.com.

    Regards,
    C. D. A.

These jerks call and leave a message every night. Asking for someone I don't have clue of who they are. It's been going on for over 6 weeks. They call during the day late at night on weekends they just called during Sunday dinner.  I called the number and they say if's for a $70 bill. I have called to try and get ahold of them to tell them to stop calling they just put you on hold telling you your call will be answered in the order it was recived. They never answer.

This message comes from Penn Credit Corporation in Harrisburg, PA.  The were looking for Vicki, who doesn't live at this address.  I called them back and they removed my number from their system (or so they say).  We will see in the long run.

If you have Comcast Digital Voice, you can screen these types of calls.
    Works like a charm :)

What is Call Screening and how do I use it with my Comcast Digital Voice® service?
When you don't want to be interrupted by certain callers, Call Screening allows you to create a list of up to 12 numbers that will receive an announcement indicating you re not presently accepting calls.

    To use Call Screening:

Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.
    Press *60.
A menu of options will guide you in managing this feature. The prompts will enable you to activate and deactivate the feature as well as add, delete, or review the numbers on your list.

    To cancel Call Screening:

Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.
    Press *80.
When prompted press 3 to turn the feature off.

This place calls AT LEAST once a day for I don't know how long. It's all an automated message with no way of telling them they have THE WRONG NUMBER !!! I've tried everything on this Gods Green Earth to get hold of them and haven't succeeded yet. There's no way to talk to a human and I am getting SICK of this. I think they're trying to contact my ex-husband...don't have a clue where they got my number as we have been divorced for over 10 years. I've tried calling them back and everything

Over the course of many months, I bet I have received 100 or more calls from this # they are supposed to be a debt collection agency. I ordered floral bulbs and grasses from another Co.and they were delivered rotten. I called them right away and told them I WAS NOT going to pay for rotten foliage. Then the Co. I ordered them from, turned it over to, this so called debt collection agency. The have been calling non stop at all hours of day and evening. The first several calls, I told them to stop calling and harrassing me,but they wont,If U tell them not to call you any more and they call 100 more times, is that not harrassment? I want this resolved that they can not call me anymore. Can I do anything legally on them for harrassment? Thank U very much.

If you see this message please email me the number you called. I am receiving call from Penn Collections and like everyone else I am not the person who owes the debt although I know of that person. I am not going to tolerate getting calls from them all the time. I intend to do something similar to you if they keep calling. Thanks

If you get a call from Penn Credit Corporation, perhaps you should return the favor, the PA secretary of state reports that the President of Penn Credit is Richard S. Templin, who is reported to reside at 5051 Ravenwood Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055-6783, with a home number of 717-766-7724.

I bet it would be funny if Richard and his wife Kristen were called at all hours of the day or night and learned what is it like to be disturbed.

    Sent To Penn Credit Corporation:

My name is C at 501-834-2266. You have called my home repeatedly with automated messages. Your messages, that often are left on my answering machine, claim that you are a collection agency. You do not identify whom you represent, and through your automated methods, are circumventing my opportunity to warn you about the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Since you have been harassing me for months, using circumvention, I am warning you now. You are not to call my home for ANY reason. If you do, I will alert your State Attorney General of your tactics. he will receive a link to this website, https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-900-1380#pdJBhBsywLgDXogjLKhxjSQ that attests to your tactics as described by multiple victims.  I speak for them as well as myself.

You have the right to contact unknowledgeable consumers if lawful; however, I am not one of those unknowledgeable consumers. You are on notice, as of the reception of this message, that further telephonic contact will be reported to your SAG. S/he will receive my written complaint, a copy of this notice and a link to the aforementioned website as evidence.

Cease and desist or further action will be taken.

Nofified AR State Attorney General 08/12/2011.
