Its a scam!! They ask for your account number so they "know who they are speaking with" but they are just trying to steal your credit card number!!! DONT GIVE IT TO THEM!! If you have a Chase account always call the number on the back of your card!!!

This call just came into my home.. AT 4:32 AM Central Standard Time. While I my banking with Chase, have a second mortgage through them and even paid off a car, this is completely out of line. 4:32 a.m.? I have five small kids. They need to be on top of this,

BE CAREFUL! This is listed as a legitimate Chase number, but when I called Chase, they had no record of the call and never had a customer with my cell number. I am suspicious the calls are originating from a scammer who is forging the name and number, so they look correct. I suggest calling your phone company and reporting the calls. I certainly wouldn't give any information to anyone who initiates a call to you from a bank. Always call them back using a number you know is good.

I got a call at about 1:00 AM. I called Chase and they said they didn't originate the call and never had a customer with my phone number.

This is actually the number to Chase customer service that is listed on the back on my Chase debit card!

Received e-mail from this, and also a call; best I can figure out it is from a registered cell-phone number in India which has invaded the number. I never respond to Chase calls or E-mails. Received one today with the little green shield, but the shield was after the name rather than before the name. If you get e-mail, right click and go to view source. I found that the e-mail came from a source at Live.Com. Looks like someone is getting a hold on Chase's mailing list or invading web searches.

February  2014 i also received the scam phone call and a few days later i got a
letter in the mail, not email in my mail box, asking for the same information for Chase.
You know it's a scam because you can't open a savings or checking account without first entering all your
personal information.

I am a long standing Chase customer.  I was contacted by mail with subject phone.  Gave my cc #.  Never ever give ss #.  Called tel # I knew was legit.  Rep identified subject # as not Chase and fraudulent.  Cancelled card immediately. Someday I might get a new one.

Congrats!  You are smart!  This is obviously a scam. Chase, or any other credit card company would never ask you for your social over the phone, along with your debit card number and pin?  So obviously a scam!  I got a call from them today, but did not answer (on the other line).  They didn't leave a message.  I am a Chase card member, but my card was activated already, so there would be no need for them to call me about it.  Thanks for your post.  Remember, never give your social, card info and pin to anyone who calls you on the phone!

It's legitimate.  I initiated a dispute of one of my credit card charges, and this was Chase following up to monitor the dispute.

No message left.

I  have repeatedly received calls from 800 935 9935, and a woman with a foreign accent, speaking very quickly says she is calling in reference to an inquiry relative to my Chase account, asks me to call back giving  a number very different from the number on my caller ID.  She speaks so quickly that I cannot get the last 2 numbers she asks me to use in a return call.  Each time I get the call it is the same message.  It is getting annoying.

Received a call from unavailable on caller id .phone #8009359935 when Googled is chase. Hi I'm calling for Rob. This is Julie from bank. I'm calling from Chase card services fraud operations department.  I asked why no business name on caller id? Hung up called number on back of card. They told me they didn't call and there was no problem. ANOTHER INDIAN SCAMMER W/ SPOOFED PHONE NUMBER !!!!!

call from this number, "Ryan" from Chase Fraud division calling to verify my Amazon credit card information, what?  Why would Chase be calling me over the phone to verify my Amazon info?  I told the guy I do not give out or confirm my information over the phone and surely he has to know that if this was a legit call he would not expect that. Then he said my credit report was frozen and that is why he is calling to verify my info, so I knew then something was screwy, the number may come up on internet searches as Chase but this type of call smells of SCAM or Phishing, especially when you see others stating they received entirely different stories about why they are being called from this number

Got a call on my cell from 800-935-9935 telling me there appeared to be fraudulent activity on my Chase card ending in XX03.  I called the # back and the woman who answered asked for the last 4 digits of my "DEBIT" card.  Told her that I had recently applied for a Chase Slate card and that the card hadn't arrived yet. She kept asking for the last 4 digits of my "DEBIT" card.  I finally hung up after a friend cautioned me to only call the # on the back of the card bec. there's no way of knowing if the # that called me was from Chase or not.  Good advice.

Got a call and left a message saying they were from the fraud dept. to call back. When I called # on back of my card they said they new nothing about it and fraud dept said they never called.

Got two calls today from "Chase" saying they are from the fraud department and that they'd like me to verify some past purchases. I told the guy it made no sense why they'd be calling me and he stumbled around saying I need to confirm some purchases. Hung up on him and contact Chase directly. They had no record.
