"Hi this is Linda. We have some opportunities that could be available to you at capital one. Please call me back today at 1-800-955-6600 to discuss them. Thank you" I do NOT have an account with Capital One and NEVER will. I am sick of their harrassment of calling my "donotcall" cellphone several times a day EVERYDAY for the past few months. My "only" bills are utilities and mortgage. None of which are Capital One. I am reporting every call to Donotcall.gov for each and every irritating call that shows on my rejects of blocked calls. Will they ever quit??? This is nothing but an irritating scam- Caller: Capital One

- autumqueen replies to CardHolder in TXOk. I was going through the list of phone numbers on my phone...all ones that call a lot and leave no message etc. If this number is a legitimate phone number connected to Capital one, is their collections dept., then why are they calling us? We have never had, never will have a Capital one card. We've had this phone number for six years and it's only in the last year or so that we have been harrassed with phone calls from them.
- Kfwont stop calling
- GoAwayCaller claimed to be Capital One debt collector asking for my husband. We don't have a Capital One card and when I explained this, adding that we are on the Do Not Call List the caller said "yes he do" (nice grammar) and proceeded to argue with me. She asked if my name was Gretchen (it isn't) and when I put my husband on the operator asked for his card number. He explained again he doesn't have a Capital One account. He was transferred around and sent to an automated line where he was again asked to enter his account number. He entered 000 and the next person asked for his social security number. Not the last four digits but the whole thing. When he declined they asked for our address which of course he refused to give. The creepy thing was that they had my husbands first and last name and gave us an address that wasn't ours but nearby in our town. At first we thought perhaps it was a case of mistaken identity but there is no one with my husband's name at that other address (Google is so helpful) and in fact no one else in our town has the same name as my husband (he has an unusual name). The fact that they kept asking for personal info was just too weird and the "we'll transfer you to the fraud department" seemed totally bogus.
It is possible to spoof caller ID and it seems that this is a case of scammers using caller ID spoofing to make it appear that they are calling from what might be a legit Capital One number to try to finagle personal info from folks flustered enough to give it. Here's an article about how easy it is to fake caller ID:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID_spoofing
Don't ever give personal info out to someone calling you.- Caller: Claiming to be Capital One

- anonymousSexual harassment: I received a call, I waited a long time during a pause, and it was a pervert asking for sexual favors. Later, I received a text message from him and it was Betty Boop bent over, exposing her [***] with a soccer ball in between her legs.
This is no machine at this number. It's someone in the sex industry. Don't answer it. - For the PeopleSubmit an FBI tip @ https://tips.fbi.gov/

- TrishThey are calling my business phone. I have never had a Capitol One account. They leave a message about once a day for the past month. I finally called the number. It asked for my 16 digit account number and I didn't answer. I waited for an operator and spoke to a polite Indian person. I explained that I was receiving voicemails that sounded like solicitations.
He asked me for my phone number, which I gave to him. He looked it up and found two people who listed this as their contact phone number. Both people were/are employees of this company. He asked me for their home numbers. I said I don't know it, and that Capitol One should have it on their record. I'm not allowed to give out personal info anyway.
He said he would put this business number on their do not call list. He then asked me to tell our employees to call their number to clarify the issues.
Polite, explained the problem and fixed it, hopefully.- Caller: Capitol One

- KateI am getting spammed with calls from 800-955-6600. I do not answer them, since Googling the number brings up reports that this is a phishing scam call pretending to be from Capital One. This is ridiculous. They call many times a day. If they leave a message (rarely), it is a hangup.
- Caller: Capital One
- TarynEven though I explained to Capital One that this card was not in my name, but my ex husbands, they still continue to call all durning work hours.

- hannahI used to get calls from them all the time, then they stopped, and now they have started again. I have never, ever used Capital One bank, and neither has anyone in my family. In the past, there has never been anyone on the other line, but I didn't answer this time. I wish they would stop, it's creepy how they even have my number.
