- ErinI already rec'd my $30 and survey packet. I'm not sure why they just now started calling me. No message but totally worth the extra cash to just write down what I'm watching on tv.
- NielsenCurrentEmployeeI studied marketing and learned alot about Nielsen and what they do. I now work with them and I just want to clarify that it isn't a scam. Heres how it works: Nielsen use computer generated telephone numbers so that it will be a fair representation of all US citizens, so anyone can get the call. They pay more to hispanics and african americans because there is a greater demand for that market due to most respondants being white. Company's such as coca cola and mcdonalds buy this information from nielsen (note that your personal info wont be sold, just the viewing) and they use in order to plan on what times its better to advertise to their target market. So NO, nielsens is not a scam and as a past caller I beg you please dont be rude to the callers, they are just doing their job just like anyone else.
- DEBBIE VLIETI DON'T RECONGIZE THE NUMBER AND WANT THEM TO STOP CALLING ME.

- GingerThey called all week I finally answered the phone. The guy was extremely nice and all they wanted me to do was to track my tv viewing for a couple of weeks and they are paying me 30.00 to do it. Christmas is coming up so it seemed like a good deal...Personally I wish I had answered sooner.

- Rick replies to Is this for real or fraudulentIt is not a scam. This is authentically Nielsen.
- susant825 replies to Shannon W.They are legit. I am doing the diary for them right now with 4 tvs. It is kind of a pain, but I figured someone must do it right? Although they only sent us $5! Along with the 4 diaries & instructions I received 5 one dollar bills. It really is not worth the hassel for $5. Oh well......
- david81333669800: serious harassment, over 15 time in the past 3 weeks! come on!
- Joe BrownCalls 2-3 times daily. Caller ID states Neilson Ratings. Breathes on phone but does not say anything! This is very irritating. I wish they would leave me alone!

- Fannie Toner| 1 replyThese people have called me twice in the past week. The first time, I explained politely to the lady that I DO NOT NOW HAVE TELEVISION, since I discontinued my service in November, and don't plan to resume it. -- And then she wanted to continue asking me questions about whether I own my home! -- I have no idea what other prying and inappropriate questions were on her list, but of course, I told her it was not any of her business. And then she said, smoothly, "Oh, well anything you told us would be in strictest confidence!" What a relief. Of course, I told her that nevertheless it was not any of their business. And I hung up.
Tonight, I received another call from them, and this time I hung up as soon as I knew who was calling.
Regardless of whether they are considered a legitimate service, I really thought the lady continuing to ask me questions about my personal data after I'd told her I don't even have TV was not legitimate at all, but highly inappropriate.- Caller: Said they were the Nielsen ratings
- BillJust called them back with my own autodialer program 500 times... left a message each time that tells them to stop calling my number... lets see how they like having to sort through there own kind of sh*t!
- AshleyThey've called about 2-3 times a day for the last 2 weeks. One the first times I answered I told them I was not interested and to take me off the list. They literally just called a few minutes ago, but my caller id said unavailable/unknown number. I told them again I was not intersted and to again remove me from the calling list. It's really annoying! I'm not home enough to watch tv as a single mom who works all the time, and attends school full time. $30 is not worth the hassle.

- JBThey have been calling me for the past week. I finally talked to them today. All they want is few minutes to ask some questions, and have you do a record of what you watch on tv for a week. They will give you $30.

- Barbarathis # has been calling for a while now...I answer and line goes dead! starting to get a little irritating!!!
- Shanna replies to Is this for real or fraudulent| 1 replyIt is for real. They will pay you about 30 minutes a week to journal what you watch on TV. They are the company that provides all the TV ratings. They are legit, but very pesky.
- Shanna replies to ShannaI meant to say 30 dollars for a week.
- AmandaI get a lot of hangups on my machine and it is probably Nielsen. But today I got my log books and in the big envelope I saw $20. I said to myself "NO WAY" as I am used to getting a buck or two. Then I pulled out the TV Log books to log my shows and saw another $10. I was like "heck yeah". I will fill in the log books for 1 week for $30. Nielsen is awesome and I would love to do this all the time if they pay like they do! Trust me people, you will get paid, and it is worth the little time that you will take to do the filling out of the survey and log books. This is probably the only company that I will let keep calling and hanging up since they pay up for your time unlike a lot of other companies that send you some crap in the mail for your time. I have $30 in Gas money, instead of a ruler or some garbage other companies send me for my time. If Nielsen reads this, I am up for more surveys if you guys keep paying like you do! THANK YOU

- B. E.Caller ID showed Unknown Name. This number is from Nielson Ratings. they called wanting me to log what shows I watch. I've done this before but it got to be a major hassle. I told them this year that I was going out of town but they sent the log anyway and have been calling daily. I ignore the call and have no interest in helping them out.

- JessIt is the Nielsen ratings and (assuming they don't change the number in the future) not a scam. We were selected to participate in the survey and they called to ask us about how many TV's we had, etc. then sent us the survey with $30 included as a thank you for taking it. They called back again after mailing it to confirm we received it and to explain how to fill out the TV viewing diary.
If they keep calling, I would visit their website and call customer service to complain.- Caller: Nielsen TV Ratings
