Today I recieved a call from a "Kim Smith" who was from Affidavit Consolidation Services. She was calling looking for a friend of mine. She had a heavy Middle Eastern accent. She told me that for the good of me give her this message (I don't answer numbers I don't know) and to also tell her she will be in big trouble! WTF? They said they got my info for being a reference on her payday loan and that an affidavit was filed against her and 3 liens against her. Again her name was KIM  SMITH and the number is 3476253715 and the number that showed up on my cell was +05 number.

Almost fell for it

I just got a call today from Alan Reed at # 813-527-3623

At first I thought that this was real, then it quickly became evident that it was a scam. After googleing the company I read this and many posts like this one.

I called back and the same guy answered. He said Alan was on a break and not available. Funny it was less than 5 minutes after he called me. This gy (same actualy guy, I would bet my life on it) said his name was Shaun. I asked for their address and he wanted my information. I persisted for an address first and he hung up. I called back and the same voice said his name was scott. They dont tell you what company they are calling from in your RTC, unless you ask. I again asked for the address and he wanted my information. I advised I would provide him with that once I got his information. He hung up the phone. I called back and got scott again. Funny how it is you get different people at the same number, until they flag your number and you then get the same person. He would not provide me with the address and hung up. I might start harrasing them for a change.

Scam!!!!I got the same call

Apperas that they are at it again using a different number. I got 2 calls from 347-854-0372 saying that I was in default on a payday loan. When I asked them to transfer me to Advance Cash America, I got the same people with ACS. I called Advance Cash America directly and am waiting on them to call me back. This is a scam, but I am concerned that they have my information.

i have also been getting these calls. they call at least 5 times a day. i have a very common hispanic last name and they cant say it right. So this must be scam. I have had same person leave messages 2 times with different names.

I've been receiving several daily calls, they started becoming more persistent today and have started calling my work and my friend telling him that I had him as a loan reference. For one, the only loan I have is my student loan which was applied for 4 years before I even knew him!

I called back and spoke to officer generic name with a thick accent. I asked the "officer" what precinct number he was with and he put me on hold. When he picked up again he claimed to be some one else and was now an "attorney" I asked him what state he was licensed in and what his bar number was so I could verify with the state bar before we spoke and he started yelling at me. He told me that $500 was deposited in my Chase account in July. I told him I didn't have a Chase account in July. He then proceeded to tell me that he was experiencing a computer problem so the date was incorrect.

I am apparently a "criminal lady" and should "just watch and wait". I told him I just got home from work so to go ahead and send the police on over to come get me. He hung up.

Clearly this is a scam. I have no outstanding debt short of a large hospital bill that I'm on a payment plan for and only owe about $75 more for. I know that you cannot be arrested even if you truly owe a debt and the stupid responses and stories these people make up are laughable. Its quit amusing how badly they mispronounce my name.

I will be setting up fraud alerts with my bank and all three credit bureaus as they have my complete social security number. Its disturbing that they have all my information (although the address they have for me is old), I don't like that the know the full ssn# and know my bank even though its a new account. There's a limit to the damage they can do short of being annoying.

However, it's so upsetting to me that they have contact numbers for my friend. Its getting to the point where their calls for me are close to harassment and I don't want him to have to deal with that too.

I'm wondering if anyone has had any success in getting them to stop. Do they just give up eventually?

I also keep getting a call from this place on my private work cell!! the Caller ID shows 052497347.  He keeps saying he is Alan Martin in such a thicvk Indiasn accent that I can barely understnad him.  The callback number he left on my voice mail once was307 057 3027  but I am unable to get through to anyone on that number.  He is very threatening and rude when I actually answer and speak to him and will not give me any info to resolve this non issue.

Just thought I would put something current up on those Jerks! A man called my work phone and asked to speak to one of my co workers thick Mid Eastern Acient. My coworker was out of the office and on her voice message had my number on it as her contact back up. I thought this was a company related phone call. It didn't take log to realize some thing was up. I told him she was not available and that I would take a message and give it to her when she got back. All he kept saying was I want to talk to (HER NAME). I finally asked him for his name, company name and phone number. He was Carlos Williams, funny how they seem to use to first names huh? He was with Consolidated Affidavit Services and gave a number which we all know is bogus and told me he needed her S.S# right now. I said well your going to have to let her call you back with that information. He then yelled and DEMANDED i get him her SS# right now. That I HAD to get it for him. So I said I'll tell you what I'll transfer your call to our Human Resources and maybe she can help you out. I just wanted to get off the phone as soon as I tried to transfer his call he rang in on my second line and he began calling my other cowork who was also on the voice message as a back up. Frustrated I told my coworker I was going to go get HR she came on my line and was getting the same demands. Needless to say his multi calling went on for over an hour for both of us. I had 25 received calls all had different incoming numbers and 11 missed calls with no duplicate numbers. My coworker who had 0000 coming up on ID had 25. Our V.P. happened to be in our facility and he asked us to transfer these calls to him, so we did. At that time he was using profanity with him. He then V.P called our companies head of securtity and they are in contact with the FBI on this one. About 11:00 a.m. my V.P came and asked if he was still calling I said it's been quiet for about 20 minutes now. He said the last call that he got he finally asked him out to lunch and he hung up...If I could have reached threw the phone and grabbed this man there is no telling what kind of damage I would have done! Beware of these people and understand your rights if you are in debt. All it takes is for them to contact that one person that has fallen on hard time with outstanding debts to scare them into this SCAM...

I received a call from the same company.  The number they gave me was 347-286-7380.  They tried to tell me I was going to have a legal suit against me for a payday loan.  When I challenged that and stated that I never had such a loan, he stated I should get an attorney to prove myself.  I then asked for the name of the company and was hung up on.  I called back and told them never to contact me at work or home again that I knew they were a scam, and if they called they would have a legitimate lawsuit to worry about.  I was then threatened.  They said I would really have something to worry about.  I told them they needed to worry because they were a bogus scam and it is all over the internet.  They threatened me again and hung up on me.  The first perosn that called me was Malyn, his supervisor never gave a name.  This is a bogus company.  Do not fall prey to them.  They are mean and abusive.  Give it back to them and they run away with their tails between their legs.

if you tell them your contacting the FBI they will stop, it worked for me.

Yes it is a scam, i think they purchase people's information for company or steal it or whatever. But I have been called several times by John Smith and everythime I tell him I have a lawyer he hangs up!
