I replied to an ad on Craigslist for a nanny position. I got an email back from Richard Tomlin who claimed that he worked for Wessex Survey and Design, and gave the contact information for a David Richards. I sent am email back requesting information before i sent him my address and phone #. i'm so glad i have the internet at my fingertips.

Eww! I responded to "Richard Tomlin" on Craigs list when he was looking for a nanny for his son and daughter. I sent my resume in response before finally finding this website... so he does have my address... but he cannot do anything with it right?  He also gave me the same story as above. Thank God I saw this website!!!!

Here in DC, he's "Richard Tomlin" <incredibletomlinfamily@gmail.com> advertising for a Nanny on Craig's List and responding with same telephone number for David Richards.  I didn't respond to this note, but he did my resume with address and phone number.  Is this identity theft or is it all about the certified check as it seems?  Would love to think the resume info was not what the scammer is after, but am concerned.  Here is his response to my email about the position.

Just now saw all the posts of others who saw the Nanny job on Craig's List.  I foolishly sent my resume with contact details (never again), but am hoping that the scam focus is on the certified check transaction and not identity details.  Once I got his response I recognized it as a scam and didn't go further with it all.  Anyone else send in a resume with contact details?
