I've been charged £7.50 altogether on two consecutive Fridays! I've sent STOP ALL to 85222 & have received a message back to say this had been cancelled. Hopefully this is the last of it.

85222 txt (in the night- as thieves do). I picked it up on Monday morning and stupidly answered 3 questions in a prize draw.. the prize was an i-pad or i-pod or some other i- product.  there was no mention of charges for replying or weekly charge until I sent the last SMS THEN.... pay £4.50 per week to continue to be entered for the draw or SMS STOP to opt out.
Likewise I too never opted in but I think by replying to the request you automatically accept T/Cs although I can find no mention of this.  I have txt STOP to number given and in tend to bar the number from my phone.  I have my suspicions that the txt could have come from Apple as I have an iphone and would have my details, or from o2, as they are my provider and there is another mention of winning cinema tickets in the next draw. It's true what they say....If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.  IT COST ME £7.83  LESSON LEARNED!!

Wondered why my mobile bill had gone up by £18 this month and on checking my bill found I had been text 4 times by this number (3 text come through together) at £1.50 per time - hence a bill of £18!  How can I claim this money back?  I am very unhappy - they should be banned.

Was playing scrabble then received a message to enter some competition , it said it was from Apple, stupidly I thought ok and immediately was sent a text message which cost   4.50. Which was going to be charged every week, and that I had joined some organization  but could opt out by texting back stop which I did and that little episode cost me on my pay as you go phone with o2 over 6 pounds in 15 minutes hopefully I have stopped it but am not holding my breath, I suppose I have lost the money I think it is disgusting that these scams cannot be stopped. I am an old age pensioner and do not like losing money, would rather give it away to a worthy cause. I did receive a reply which said I would be opted out in the next 24hrs. We will see, have turned my phone off and hope they go away. Am going to use my French pay as you go for a while, will cost more  but will do anything to stop cheats getting more money for nothing from me.

I have been receiving charges of between £7.50 and £15 per month for at least 3 months now. My MSP claims they can do nothing about it. I don't use premium rate numbers for ANYTHING. how can I stop it/reclaim my money back?

I inadvertently entered a draw with Easyquiz..plasticsheds9x.co.uk on 21st December whilst using my mobile.
I immediately tried to send stop to 85222 but my message failed. I tried to resend it on several occasions.
I have checked my mobile account this morning and have been charged £1.25 for the 6 times when I tried resending the stop message.

Just got duped thinking it was free!!! Replied with STOP straight way, will take a day to remove me! Don't know what I have been charged for. They should have a period of time (like a cooling off period) were you can opt out without Being charged!

I was sent a message to my ipad supposedly from Apple inviting me to enter a competition, I was told to text my mobile no.to 85222 to confirm my entry. They confirmed and took £5 even tho I had not been advised by Apple that there would be a charge. Several more texts later I realised this was a scam. I am still receiving texts but do not open them, just delete them. Don't know who they are from or how to stop them.

Received a random, unsolicited text this evening from this number, with the text of:

FreeMsg: Mr (My surname). To confirm your entry to the new iPad2 simply reply yes to 85222. Please ignore if not requested ??3p/w

Ignored it, forwarded it to 02 and put in a complaint with the phonepayplus site.
