- Bella replies to Denise Robbins| 1 replyThis competition came up on the bottom of the tv guide app. I don't normally enter anything like this but I thought it belonged to Apple and I couldn't use the TV guide without accepting it. It's sent me 3 txt sand taken most of my credit. I've switched my phone off and don't know what to do. Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks
- Castle replies to Bella1)Have you tried sending "stop" to the shortcode?
2) Switching your phone off won't work; you will need to remove your sim, otherwise the texts will still be charged.
3) Contact Phonepayplus and submit a complaint - nickyAre people really gonna believe it's an issue or a technical fault haha its how many days later and I have just received the same text message at 2 in the morning. This is a serious scam that effects thousands of ur network provider status is they can not do anything they are completely lieing think it out. The people who charge u for ur service are not able to explain who the company are or even refuse the message. I have a very major issue believing what u was told as they are very suspicious within their answers. Has no one thought that it is the network. Pretty amazing how something we have all never done is all of a sudden appearing. I am also pretty sure that any text message to ur phone that is taking or requireing ur credit money must always in the first instance be a request stating howuch for what and who the party recipient of the funds will be. That's like writing a blank cheque and giving it to a random stranger. The phone company know who.sent the text and where from. It's impossible for them not to. How can a person use their systems unguarded and with no identity. If they do say that than I suggest that u tell them they are in breach of their aggreement with u. If u allowed someone to use ur phone and they messed with ur networ from ur device as the rules state u the owner are responsible. So therefore they provide ur service it's clear the texts are all unwanted so not giving a refund or canceling the payment and than do all possible to find the company and make they accountable for their fraudulently activity. The phone company say they can't do anything is a complete and un questionable admittance that they have no control over their network and who has access. It is impossible for any text message to be sent without the network knowing exactly everything needed to know. Than the fact they say we can't explain or tell u any details or refund shows that as a customer u mean basically anything. The reason u have a phone bill is so u are aware of all things u did on ur account and to provide them with a basis of ur bill. Refuse to pay your bill and see how they act then. Just think how much points towards ur phone networks being responsible. Selling ur details or even giving them ur details. Companys can and do sell all details of their customers for this excat purpose. They are paid for the details and than paid when ur charged. Virgin media are the worst apparently u need a direct debit on ur account or u recieve a fee of 10 every month extra. It states u must have a direct debit active so when I am being charged by them for not having a direct debit than being told oh we charged u for the payment not being taken that's completely illegal too. I must have a direct debit active on the account u admitted I have by yelling me a payment was declined. Then trading standards told me that 1000s of customers were being charged like usually just each one a small amount they would take 10 and do the same anyone complaining would be told it was a computer error and given it back. But apparently 100s of thousands of people complained about the same issue making trading standards take action when I checked not one thing has been done till this day. As training standards must check accounts of those who've joined the network at any point so I assume checking every account to check over charging would take time. But Ive been told by other legal companys and awaiting trading standards to confirm that nearly every companty in excistance this is common practice. For example they take 200.000 illegal payments of that maybe half will report it. They will be told it's an error and most end it there. I f every single month they do this they make potential multiple millions a month for nothing. I know elderly people with contract phones who pay via direct debit but have never had a bill as they don't know how to check it electronically. There are many people with the problem of nothing being computer illetrate what happens when all of these people make no complaints or even realise what's happening. When they recieve no complaints or dont pay it back than the company know who does and don't check their bills given the opportunity to repeat this over and over without any knowledge. When I worked in the cab i see a case where someone showed a 24 months contract with orange but yet the contract began 31 months prior according to the date. Orange were asked multiple times to provide the new contract aggreement as prove to which they stated it was not available. If u start a contract and u even finish after 24 months without a contract that contains ur signature than its void. How can some one agree a contract but at no point authorised it or even seen it. When u join before u get ur phone ur contract comes in the post to which I have to sign and send back. They can not allow any unauthorised transaction on ur account even from there self's. What I say is the customers of the network should be given full access to information about misguided fraudulently activitys as well as the fake data speeds and lies we receive when they want to make u believe how good they are. Everytime someone allows the phone company to steal from them it encourages it to keep happening. If there was an illegal transaction on ur account and the provider does nothing but they take the amount from ur bank account telephone ur bank and explain tell ur bank to do a claw back and not authorise any payments to be taken by them. If u suspect ur network or in infact any other person who takes more via dd from ur account to be fraudulent than the clawback can be used to either pull back specific dates to every dd from u to them. U must provide proof of the fraud and leave the money in your account ur bank give the company opportunity to explain their actions and prove the legitimacy of the amounts taken. If they can't the money is yours and you should apply for compensation. I said the money must remain in ur account but once u recieve the claw back u can transfer it take it out or spend it. Just every payment they have taken is unlikely to be fraud and ur bank will charge u the money after giving them the legal amount owed. So best to only claw back all payments suspicious or known to be wrong. End of the day the bank will put u in od if legitimate.
