I had the same sort of message last night only a few hours after topping up my credit and £1.50 has been taken and shock of horrors my service provider is O2.  I've had more than enough problems with O2 to last me a lifetime so am considering switching to Orange, has anyone had these problems with them?

With regards the unauthorised text message if you read the first couple of pages of this thread there is an 0845 number which i have called and after selecting certain options have been assured i'm taken off the list.  There's also an email address which i have emailed to get a refund but will not hold my breath for that.

This thread starts in Feb 2009 and there's talk that the company who sent the texts did so in error over a weekend and that it won't happen again well it's now October 2010 and it's still going on so what is the excuse now?

further to the above i've just rang O2 playing merry hell (without swearing or getting agressive) and went through to the cancellations people.  said i want my pack number so that i can move to orange, he was alright this man and ended up saying if you stay with us we'll put £10 credit on your phone for the trouble.  I said ok then you win and got a tenner just for a five minute phone call, bonus.  if i get more of these porn messages i'll just ring back and get the pack number.

I received numerous messages of this number with "lotto results"
They have taken over £10.00 of me so far and i dont know what to do! i cannot top up as i have "premium messages" waiting for me.. but have insufficient funds!
What a con! it's really bad! i hope they get their come-uppance!

i suggest you take the matter up with OfCom. What this company are doing is illegal.
contact OfCom and report it, as they have probably received complaints about the same thig numerous times. I work in the text messaging industry, but strictly business to business. These people are giving text-messaging a bad name!

This has happened with me, got lots of text from that number and lost £5 credit. Im also on o2, very very annoyed

I keep getting charged for receiving text from 85222 - STOP

keeps takin my credit when i top up...yet i dnt use the service...must b another scam...how can i block them..?

am getting charged 1.50 every text , tryed to phone them but failed, been adivised to text them back stop ,but still not working,

if anyone is getting is getting money taken of there phone from text 85222 ,(lottery) like i was ,well here is 3 numbers to which they belong to the companys whom are taken your money. i phoned this one first 08005002122 left a message then the customer service manager phoned me back,,he told me that there company deal wi the adult side , ie texts , then he gave me this number 01494750500 which is for texts for lottery etc,(company called WIN KING ) i phoned them up to stop texts they did,then he gave me a number to phone for refund.0870 000 8697 company called lotto by text based in LONDON FW1V 1AV . i asked the question how did you manage to get my number ? answer DONT NO

I got a message from the same number this for lotto by phone which I didn't sign up for, they have taken a ridiculous amount of money of my pay and go with o2 - naughty!!!

I have received the same message. 3 of them every week and all the time I have been loosing £4.50.
I called O2 they told me it is a premium text and you should send the a STOP message. None of it worked and I kept on loosing my money.

same here they have taken over £10 in credit just today

85222 has cost me £4.50, my provider thinks i am going to pay for it, not likely when i have not used it. can i stop this alltogether and if so how.

I just got hit by these [***]! They sent me to this site called wap.flirtychat.com and took £1.50 from my credit. Why the balls did this happen? I want my money back, can someone please explain what happened?
