- PissedOffinAlabama| 1 replyMy mom was trying to sell an RV after Dad passed away and advertised it in a local newspaper. She got a call from Auto Marketing Services and gave them her credit card #. She told me about it yesterday and wanted me to help her take and upload some photos. I googled the company and realized she had been ripped off. I am so pissed off right now its a good thing I do not live close enough to these [***] to open a can of whoop-ass.

- Truck listed on CraigsList - BEWAREThis company is still at it...first call from Matt. I took the bait and returned the call. Leslie told me there were nine buyers in my area waiting to see (buy) my truck. Nine I say?? Yes, she replied...and you can have it sold by this weekend. Wow I say !, do they have cash...and I imagine 9 people just waiting to give me the cash for a 10 YO truck.
In fact, Leslie says you can up the price by our fee of $249 and that will make it free to you. I say, REALLY? She was all bubbly, I could just feel her excitement (commission) as they must get paid for each sucker that they GET to "donate" the $249 fee. I asked...where do you get these 9 buyers from??? She explained, they are just waiting (from "buy your truck land") with cash and oh yes, they are within a 150 mile radius of your location. AND, will pay FULL price.
WHY CAN"T THESE PEOPLE BE SHUT DOWN or FINED / JAILED???
PS for LESLIE - I know jobs are hard to come by these days, but can you sleep at night or even look at yourself in the mirror??? As for the OWNERS of AMS - I hope you get a nice "girlfriend" in JAIL.
IFYOU RECEIVE A CALL FROM THESE PEOPLE RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN !!!!!!!!!!- Caller: Auto Marketing Systems
- Jaime replies to AlanI've been reading these posts, plus many threads elsewhere and Alan, you have sealed the deal. We posted a 1964 Rambler 990, Ambassadors series, 327V8 with 45k miles on Craigslist, in case anyone is interested. : )
Anyhow, my husband received a call on his cell the very next lady, who he described as a incredibly sweet lady, (the best one's always are)
Same thing, give us your special reduced fee of $150 with a 90 day guarantee.Oh an your vevhicle you are selling now for $5000 well, we have a couple "potential" buyers ready with $6100. Such a strange stactic.I mean the Blue Book value is around $4800 in excellent condition. Seems like a very hollow statement.
So, I told my husband before he hands over his credit card, which he actually in his hands lets check on a few things. He is eager to do it. But not to do the whole cliche thing, but it looks like a scam and talks like scam and asks for money upfront like a scam and only reaches through the internet like a scam, well,......It must be a friggin scam.
That Paul guy, advocating earlier reponded to a post that someone mentioned if you are on the up and up why cant anyone find anything positive to say? Paul's response was (in paraphrase) well in general most people will only spend their time making negative comments on products & servicies companies offer, so therefore you wont find anything out there besides our sites testimonials that will praise or offer any statements of gratitude of pleasure of doing business with them.
I call [***] on that. I can google a myriad types of business and find threads everywhere saying what a good experience they had with the company, or that the got what the paid for and was very happy.
Every company is going to have some negative comments, can't make everyone happy. But to not be able to find one, just one, that wasn't dictated by them seems ludicris. Not to mention the fact that there are some people on here that have tried their service and has definitly not come out the winner.
So, yes Alan after reading your post you sealed the deal for me. I will not be a sucker and I Thank you for saving me $150.
Goodluck to you. I hope you get it back, but more importantly I hope 100 more people read this and save them selves $150 $139 $200 $250, whatever amount they decide to charge at the time.
I always do try to stay away from companies that file their business under entities that don't quite suit their business plan. Non-Profit-it may not be us your scamming with that, but your trying to hide something from someone. Hope it's not big brother for your sake. - JaimePaul, Where are you? I miss you. I ran out of scary stories about lying monsters who steal money from innocents to read to my son every night. Ho-hum, guess we will just have to wait until the next scam finds us. And it will.

- EllenN replies to PissedOffinAlabamaI got a call from these jokers and researched them myself. Come to find out, I went to school with and knew the owners. Bryant and Mason Cass... twins. Short with zitty faces and braces but quite intelligent. That they would be the wizard behind the curtain in this shoddy operation is absolutely tee totally no shock at all.
Im sorry for what happened to your mother. Out of all the complaints on this website, yours was perhaps the sickest. Shame shame shame on you Cass boys for almost duping a grieving old woman. - Dan| 2 repliesHello,
I would like to take the time to further discourage the use of Auto Marketing Systems. I share the same story as the majority of those who posted on this message board. Last fall, I posted a car on craigslist for sale. Within a few days I was contacted by this company. Curious, I called back to seek assistance with the car selling process. The representative I spoke with was kind, however, unbeknownst, provided me with false information. They told me that there was a bunch of buyers interested in my car. Apparently that was false considering I was never once contacted. I signed up, gave my information. I followed every step of the procedure, even lowered my price throughout the 90 day selling process. I got my paper notorized and sent it out on the exact day (please take in mind this was mid November. It is now almost February) that the period ended. Luckily I made copies and sent it certified mail with signature upon delivery. I have been keeping detailed records of this entire process because I didn't know about the fraud accusations against this company. I have a record of every single time I have contacted them as well names, times, dates, and what was said during the conversations. Back to the refurnd claim. It wasn't picked up until 2-3 weeks later. Because it was post office marked for the day and I have complied with all of the terms of service, I figured that I would get my money back right? Wrong!!!!! I am no far beyond that time in which my refund was supposed be given and with no refund whatsoever. I've been calling every other day "checking up on my refund". So far, I've been sent two customer complaint forms, which apparently is a new prequisite to my money back. Funny, because that wasn't mentioned in the terms of service. However, I filled out the customer complaint form and still nothing. I have contacted an attorney regarding the Auto Marketing Systems violation of their terms of service. Thankfully, this site also provided me with some helpful additional information in which it appears that they also violated federal law as well. I will save this page. If anyone is aware of a class action suit against this company, please get in touch with me. I am setting up an email address soley for those who are interested in pursuing justice. Unless they want to pay back what is mine, serious legal action is being explored. Please contact me. Together, we can pool our resources, experiences and legal team. - Shannon replies to DanHow has AMS violated federal law exactly? I would LOVE to know.
- john goodson replies to Amy G.They told me they had buyers for my particular car which I figured was just part of the pitch. I placed the ad for some 249 bucks. It's been three months and nary a call. They said three hundred some people had visited the ad which really means nothing but not a single call. I would spend my money elsewhere.
- Jan replies to Greg| 1 replyI checked out Aoto marketing systems. It's a legit company in Virginia that matches buyers and sellers, and is partnered with Longwood Industries in Bedford, VA helping disabled people train for jobs.
- Tami replies to JanThis AMS Vehical Sales Co. is scamming phone numbers off Craigslist which is an FCC violation. They are a scam company. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD #. Any legit up front company would gladly refund your fee if you were not happy. Like Sears or Amazon.com. Credit card companies are open 24/7 and can process a refund in no time. AMS VSC has a line of BS that they can not process this after 5pm but we'll call you back. Report the company to the BBB in your state and to your Attorney General in your state. THIS IS A SCAM! These kinds of web sites are all over the place and they shut up when you tell them it's against the law to harvest numbers from Craigs List. Craigs List is world wide and this comany is harvesting numbers. Don't fall for this. They get your money and you don't sell your car that fast. Want adds, Craigs List and a "For Sale" sign in your car are the best ways.
DON"T fall for money orders or any thing that sounds "to good to be true" cause it is.
NE Georgia - Greg FieldGot called by a "Matt" from Auto Marketing sales, offering to sell my car, telling me it's in demand, but it's a junk car and I'm selling parts. Told him not to call again, yet they did. Called back and asked for Matt again so as to read the riot act to them, got a dumb smartass girl who laughed at the prospect of legal action. Gonna guess that they hire high school dropouts and pay zilch except for commission. She claimed no knowledge as to privacy laws, above and beyond simply the no call laws, which state that when you tell someone not to call they must under the law comply. This arrogance and the fact that these little cockroach emplyees are not warned of this is no doubt due to the fact that the company comes up in a whois search listed as amsvheicles.com located in Funchal, Madeira. They can still be sued and prosecuted if you can find an office in the US.

- Candie| 1 replyI got several calls from an unknown caller on my caller id, they also called my cell phone, when I answered there was no answer, just a dial tone on the other end, I left it go to voice mail one day, they finally left a message, the caller was Matt Corter from Auto Marketing Systems, he saw my rv ad on craigslist and wanted to help me sell it. According to him they had buyers just waiting for an rv like mine. I called back, talked to Patty. They have 2 different plans, the $249.00 money back guarantee, and the $149.00 non refundable plan, they assured me that to save the $100.00 because they had people already. I did, however I called late on a Friday to sign up for the $149.00 plan, my rv was sold by me over the weekend, I called them before 9:30 am on that following Monday morning to ask for a refund since it sold over the weekend and they really hadn't done anything for me by sending people to me, they refused because I did the lower amount plan. I called my bank and it was due to be deducted from my account that night, Monday, and the bank wouldn't put a stop payment on it either because I used my debit card. After being angry and making 2 phone calls to these people, talked to Melissa both times, and refused to put a supervisor on the phone also, she said to file a refund request to the main company, Longwood Industries. This also made me suspicious when I found out from the bank it wasn't even being deducted under the Auto Marketing Systems name. THIS IS A BIG SCAM, I did research, but it was too late. I feel they should refund my money without a hassle since it was not them that sold it, and it took place between late friday afternoon and monday morning !!!!!

- relievedI am so glad that I read these posts.I just received a call from a Matt that left a message on my cell phone stating that he could sell my Corvette. I called back and spoke to an Andy (supposedly Matt had left for the day) that informed me that there were 6 buyers interested in my car. I had actually planned on giving these losers a call back this coming week to set something up, even though it sounded too good to be true. I just wanted to say to everyone thank you so much for posting this information. I certainly hope that anyone else receiving these calls checks this forum before falling victim.

- JohnIt's interesting that AMS has a 90 day guarantee. That's the exact number of days you are allowed to issue a chargeback (dispute a transaction) with the issuing bank of your Visa or MC. If you call on day 91, you have little chance of winning a chargeback. I was contacted about selling my truck.. glad I did some research and found this forum
