Yes, I called them back because they had been calling me once a day for a week. Because I didn't know the number, I didn't answer. They left no messages. (And as an aside, in Ontario, according to the police dept, a collection agency has the legal right to call you once a day, and it only counts if they reach you - more than this and then it's harrassment). Anyway, I called them because I haven't had any credit for the past 6 years and just got my first CC 2 weeks ago. The person I spoke with asked the number that is being called by them. I gave my phone number because that much they had on file. It turns out that they are a valid collection agency (also in the Yellow Pages) and they had been attempting to reach someone else who apparently lied about the phone# (mine) that he could be reached at (wonder why :P). They told me over the phone that they removed my number from being called any more. So I would advise anyone who receives a call from this number to answer it. The same thing could have happened to you, or you owe money.

They have called every day this week,looking for info but tell me it is a provincial matter I told them to send me a letter my name and address is listed in phone book,they tried to tell me they have done that! It's a lie and a scam someone should be able to stop them!!!!

Just report them on the National Do Not Call List (www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca). File a complain.
They are extremely rude and disorganized. Claimed that they have never called me, but they have been calling me everyday for 3 days now.

Did they call you again? They said they would take my phone number off the list, but calling me back next week for 3 days straight.

Yes, it is Aro. Seeing the posts here, I decided to call the number to see why they had just called me.  The lady asked for my phone number, then said some guy's name.  I told her I've had this number for years and she removed it.  Either a mistake or the guy happened to give my number as a fake.

Guess what? You get a fine, you pay it. You don't, there's a penalty.  It applies to all of us.  I'm sorry about your health, but it's the collection agency calling, not the city. You can't sue the city over this.

They keep calling  MY OFFICE & saying we have an Important Message for Someone in Your Family Please call us Back. They give No  Company Name only the Phone # So they can keep calling until the End of Time I will not ANSWER them.

We are being harrassed by this number from April 17 we have received 20 calls, that I have noted.  I finally called back to see who they were....they hanged up on me because I wanted to know what this call was about. I called back and asked to speak to a manager, and was put on a machine to leave a message... This is harrassament. What kind of people call and they do not want to say what the business is....What can we do with calls like this.
They say that they are collection agengy, we do not owe anything . I don't think they are  legit..They call for my husband....he works out of town during the week, but this weekend he answered the call, because I told him that they were continually calling and not wanting to tell me anything...and they told him  it was Verizon....we never dealt with that company and my husband said  not to call anymore that was Saturday April 28th.  They called me today.Aprl 30th..and explained that my husband answered the call and that he doesn't anymore calls from that number 8666673307.

I get calls 3 times a day, I told them if they are legit to send me info on whom and what they are after. I am not aware of any debts that I have forgotten if I have they can send me reminder.they have my phone number they must have my address, it is listed. This is harassment at it's worst.someone do something. I can't this is legitament. STOP THE HARRASSMENT!!!!

I too received a voicemail from them last night, saying that they are calling on behalf of *one of the major banks* which I don't want to disclose here so I will call it "the bank"!!!! They got the last name right but first name wrong. But I don't even know that person!  It beats me why they are even calling my home number.  

When I did call back the number and entered the extension it just says ARO, when I googled it it says collection agency.  The thing is I don't even owe any money or unpaid bills, been a customer for over 30 years with "the bank"......anyways, it just said  "not home, leave a message"  so I just left a really nasty message for them.  

I feel like they are just scamming people and using bank names to get you to call them back.  If they continue to leave messages like this I'm going to report them.

We got a new number and I do not owe anyone any money... This annoying person calls atkeast 2-3 times every day I get up for work at 4am so I'm usually in bed when they call ANOYING... Especially since they do not leave messages and I have left them 2 for every time they have call asking then to stop calling as I am not who they are looking for (they asked for a weird name once) I have told them to listen to my answering machine they will see its not even remotely close to go they are looking for. I have called my phone provider and they want me to pay for the block a number service or would gladly change my number for free.... Sure after I just gave everyone in my family and my wife's family along with everyone else our number... I ain't changing it but next time they call when I'm home.... Keep getting calls from 866-667-3307 on my cell phone.  I have no debt.

I received a phone call this evening and asked whom it was and they refused to tell me.  I also asked how they got my house number and they said they would not tell me.

I have received numerous phone calls from this number, finally I answered to them asking for a family member of mine.

This is a personal cell phone in which they were not given the number.

When I told them this was not there number, they asked for a number in which they could reach my family member. I told them no and hung up.

The next day I received another call from the number. I answered again, this time they asked to speak to such and such, the first name cut out (probably because I was in a basement) and I only heard the last name (which is my last name).

I said "speaking" and they started rattling off a ticket which required payment.

I began asking questions about the ticket and had no recolection of this ever happening. So after getting very specific and private details, they clarified who this was pertaining to. NOT ME.

I then said, you have just disclosed very personal information regarding this individual without verifying who they were speaking to. THIS IS A HUGE INFRINGMENT OF PRIVACY RIGHTS!

The caller then paniced when I asked for a manager, of course there was not one available. When I got her name, she started getting aggressive saying that what I did was illegal, answering the phone as someone else.

I thought the call was for me  because I heard my last name and it was on my phone.

She started yelling saying that this phone call was recorded and I was going to get into trouble.

So now thats two illegal tactics. 1) Disclosing private information 2) Recording a phonecall without the concent of the other party.

The funny thing is, I bet I will get another call from them looking for the same person after I have told them it is not their phone number.

This needs to stop.

Said the same to me.  Asked for my birthdate and when I woudln't give it, the guy told me not to be stupid.  He was calling on behalf of the city of Barrie and would keep calling until I verified who I was.  I told him I would file a complaint then he stated yelling at me asking me who do I think I am?  I hung up on him and about an hour later they called back.

Aro just doesnt get the message they are told numerous times the person is not here yet they keep calling
