Just got my second call today. They are looking for Alex.....I have had this number since 05-24-06 why they are calling me I don't know...

Same stuff everyone says above - supposedly WAMU calling after you make arrangements with the company.  Wonder how they get our numbers?  Is WAMU selling them to the scammers?  Interesting but glad to have found this info out here

I have been getting from 1 to 6 calls each day for the past three months from 1-866-926-8937.  The calls are computer generated so a message is never left.  My number is unlisted, unpublished, and on the "do not call" list.  If you try to answer nobody picks up.  As mentioned above, calling the number gets you to WAMU but you need an account number to reach a human.  I do not - nor have ever had a WAMU account.  Caller ID numbers are easily spoofed so it is difficult to tell if it is really WAMU.  Qwest was no help, they could only sell me Call Rejection (which does not work on anonymous or spoofs). Entering 866-926-8937 does not reject these call so they are almost certainly spoofed.  I have turned the ringer off and made it just a message line.  I had to have a second line to function.  Only me, God, and a few other people have that number.

I've been getting these calls for a while now, I've answered once and had the exact same experience as everyone here as had.  However, I have called the number back and it does put you into the WaMu phone loop.

I still think this is a scam.

i received a call this morning from 'Mark' claiming that my mortgage payment was late. when i told this person that we weren't and that our Jan payment was made at a branch he put me on hold to check further and never came back

Wamu keeps calling us two or three times a day asking for people who do not live here. We keep telling them that, over and over. We don't have a mortgage thru them, but we get harrassed non stop, every day at all hours. When we tell them that they have the wrong number and to stop calling, they say they will update the records and then they call again a couple of hours later. I guess the people in India either don't knwo how to update the records or don't know how to read the update. If they do a reverse lookup on the number, they will see the name is wrong. We've threatened to get a lawyer since this is harrassment but it has not helped. I guess our next step is a lawyer and a lawsuit. If you blcok the number, they just use a different one to call so that won't work. Maybe a court case and some bad publicity about them harrassing people for no reason will make them stop calling us.

For the past several months, I receive at least one call a day from the number 866-926-8937.  I have a small business fax number that these jerks call every day.  Probably the past number to someone who owes WAMU money.  Everytime they call it my fax machine uses another piece of my paper to print the number that is calling.  When I call WAMU, some foreign sounding person with an accent continues to ask for my social security number even when I tell them that I just want to have them cease and desist from calling me.  These people are impossible!

They call all the time, so this time I picked it up.  A recorded female voice tells the listener to clear the line for an important call. It never happened, and I hung up.

They have been calling me several times a day every day looking for my ex-husband.  We divorced 12 years ago and at this point this is just an intrusion on my life.  This number has never been tied to my ex-husband.  This number has belong to my permanent husband or his family for 3 generations.  My ex-husband was an abuser and a drunk and these phone calls are not just harassment but they bring up memories and nightmares that it took years for me to work through.  I don't know how to make them stop, but it's out of control.

These people or whatever they are call me constantly.  The one time I answered the phone after dozens of calls, they asked for someone I never heard of.  I told them to stop calling me and I would take further action if they continued.  They called again the next evening.  I have reported them to the do not call list several times.  I have no business in the past or currently with WaMu or JPMorgan.  The person who I spoke to the one time I answered did not say who they were, and had a very meek voice with a foreign accent.  He acted very meek again and his voice was shaky when I told him not to call me anymore.  I again reported it to the do not call registry.
I'm going to pick and blow a loud whistle in their ear next time they call.  I hear that works pretty well.

I have received at least 2 calls per day from this number. I am not late on my payments and when they were asked why they are calling, they say it is Morgans "NEW" policy as a reminder to pay. On the 19th, I received another 2 calls, even though my payment isn't due until the 1st. On another note, they ( WAMU ) , seem to have misplaced approx. $22k of payments made and have increased my escrow payments but have no answers for me. To the person who wrote in earlier saying the American tax payers bailed out WAMU, we did not, JP Morgan BOUGHT out WAMU and took over, closing some of their offices, but not the mortgages. I wait for them to call back today so I can ask them where my money is instead. 6 different states in the last 5 years for payments. Also, 7 years ago, they foreclosed on a property in Florida they say I owned, never been there, but they called asking if I wanted to save the house, nice, huh ?

I am getting the same call - WAMU cannot identify them for me. WAMU cautions to not give them info over the phone unless they can provide info from their side. In other words, if a company is working for WAMU they will have the dope on you. It is better to call WAMU's number and deal with them directly.

keeps calling me wont leave message when I answer they say a wrong name when I tell them  they have wrong number they get hateful and rude

Rude people have wrong number keep telling them but dont listen still keeps calling

this number keeps calling for wrong person rude and hateful dont seem to understand its the wrong number.

This number seriously calls my house 4 - 5 times a day asking for my brother-in-law and I have asked numerous times to be removed from this list b/c he does not live here but they will not give up nor will they let me speak to a "supervisor" like I have requested numerous times.  This is getting ridiculous!

i am getting calls at my wifes parents house for me from 'wamu' on the called id it says 11 866 not 1 866. i called a friend at wamu and he said he had been getting more of these calls lately and the are fake!!! there is and has never been any link to me at my wifes parents house let alone me giving wamu or anyone else for that matter their phone number. my buddy also told me it is possible these people are getting info from public records i.e. we just got married and then the calls started.

1-866-WAMU-YES calls me one a week on my cell phone asking for Shane (My name is not Shane.) and I have said different things each time and it is usually  has been a man but now (10 minutes ago) it was a woman. They asked me to make a payment and I don't have an account with WAMU. I am wondering if it is a scam or really WAMU but mixing up numbers! Help!!

I received 3 calls from this number, 2 of which were missed, the 3rd I answered.  Caller indicated I was late with my mortgage payment and could I send some amount.  We do have a mortgage with them but were not late and never have been.  She knew the exact amount of our mortgage payment.  This is the second time this has happened and both times I had paid on the 10th of the month which is when it is due but not late until the 25th.  She hung up while I was still talking.  Another question I have, how did she get my cell phone number, it's not on any documentation we have with Wamu because it's new.

I've been getting approx. 6 calls a day from "Wa Mu" asking for someone other than me.  I've told them they have the wrong number and to stop calling, but they continue to  call.
