Several calls through out the week. From WAMU about a morgage and a debit. Never even heard of these people. I let the machine take it. Already checked with "my peopele" and everything is A OK. These calls are very much a scam of some sort.

Got a call yesterday.  At first it was the "please hold the line" message but someone came even before it finished playing.  They asked for Robert, no one in my household by that and I told them so.  They politely said, "Thank you" and we hung up.

These people having been calling us for months multiple times per day.  They say they are trying to contact my in-laws which may or may not be true.  I told them today my in-laws are listed and I took down the girl's name.  Sure it's fake but she said it was Karen Cadigal.  I told her to take us off the list and that I would report them.  Then googled the number and found this .. I don't know what this is but we've have never had any loans with WaMu. Despicable people.

It seems that some of you received calls from this number yet do not have any dealings with these folks.  I also do not have any dealings with these folks, but they have called our home (along with other creditors) for my brother-in-law and his wife because they cannot pay their bills.  I guess if the loanee is not making their payments, the creditor will try to embarrass them through family and friends... to cause embarrassment and almost as a threat to pay their bills.  Though I believe that the loanee is in the WRONG for not making their payments, it is also WRONG for the creditor to try to slander their names.

My son who is a minor and is in high school, gets 5 to 6 calls a day from this number. Needless to say he doesn't own a house or has a mortage. I tried calling back to this number to speak to a real person and can never get through.

I received a call from this number on a beautiful Saturday morning. I am sitting at home trying to relax and recover from my night job and I receive a call from this number from a guy with a bad accent asking me when I will pay my mortgage for WaMu. Keep in mind I have over 6 mortgages with Washington Mutual and I have never missed a payment. The guy on the phone tells me my payment is due on the 1st of the month when in fact it is due on the 15th. I suspected this was a scam from the beginning since they could not provide me with the specific account number in question for payment.

If you get a call from this number, it is likely that it is a scam and spoofed ID since the number being discussed is WaMu's toll-free customer service number.

Thanks for letting me tell my story of this number.

Got a call from this number. A lady calling from the phillipines asked to speak to me and confirmed address. It was for a rental property. She wanted to know when the payment would be in (it is due 16th) I asked why she was calling when I had being paying on time for years and the payment will be in on time. She claimed she also had my SS # - a lady in the phillipines. I will call WA MU and will file a complaint with the attourmey general for my state. I recommend you do the same.

I got a "confidential" letter from J. M. Adjustment Services saying that I could call this number to talk to WaMu. I know all my WaMu communications with the real WaMu say "Chase" now so this guy is a little behind on his scam.

My husband just got a call from this number - on a Sunday! Guy was very rude, demanding payment although we are not late. We do have a Wamu (now Chase) loan - the caller knew our address and also has other phone numbers of ours. How do they get this info?

I got this call tonight and let the answering machine take the automated message. As with some of you, it said that "this is an attempt to collect a debt." The number given in the automated messaged is in fact my WAMU mortgage company # listed on my Home Loan Statement, but the thing is I've never had a late payment in my life, so this is obviously an attempt to commit fraud. I'd guess that I'll be getting a call from someone again attempting the spoof, but when I see the number flashing on caller ID, I will answer and ask detailed questions.

I got a call at 6pm on a Sunday. I told them that I doubted a bank would call on a Subday and I won't give them any information, Then I hung up on them, they call three times in a row.

I posted a note earlier, I just called WAMU and said it was indeed them calling me on a Sunday evening, just a coutesy call. Tell them you no longer want to receive the call and there supposed to take you off the list. I thinmk that's what she said, I think I was talking to somebody in India though.

We get 5-6 calls a day from WaMu -- if that's who they really are.  We do not have now, nor have we have had, insurance or any type of account with WaMu.  I've reported this harrassment to The No-Call List twice and they can't do anything about it.  Who can?

They somehow got my mother in laws home phone number and call there constantly loking for my husband or I. We have told them to stop calling my mother in law, as they have no reason to be contacting her house. We asked how they got her information and they will not give an answer. We are not late on our mortgage, have never been late on our mortgage, and have told them to stop calling trying to sell us new/different products. Who do I contact to make these calls stop?

After receiving my second call from 1-866-926-8937 on my Cell phone, I decided to do a "Who called Me?" on it; turns out it is a PHONEY "Washington Mutual Bank" #! They refuse to leave a voice message, and when I calledthe number, it was an automated answering system which announced it was WAMU, but gave no option to by-pass the machinery and speak to a live operator.
Usually you can hit Zero and get a person. Also, it kept requiring I input either my existing Acct. #  or my SSN! NO BANK HAS EVER DONE THAT!
This is definitely an elaborate SCAM the Feds need to investigate.
    Are you listening FBI?

received a call allegedly from WaMu (was simply a voice message on my answering machine) requesting the home owner call regarding collecting a debt.  I don't have a mortgage from WaMu and don't owe them anything.  Perhaps a Phishing attempt???

    Stop Calling!
They are calling my work phone and then my cell phone, my work phone then my cell phone.... I'm not late on my payment; they are very harrassing.
I answered the other day and told them I paid them and to quit calling incessantly while I was at work and she said "If you hang up on me I am going to keep calling until you pay" I don't owe anything!
They are even calling my receptionist about me. I cannot believe it!
