The number is from Elmwood Jail in Milpitas, CA. a Santa Clara County correctional facility. You probably received a collect call from an inmate.

Received two calls from this number, heard it was from correctional facility so I hung up.  I don't know anyone in prison, don't want to know.  I work for an agency that sends people there.

called 2x in the middle of the night. didn't answer. i don't answer calls from unknown numbers.  calling in the middle of the Night is ridiculous.

At 5:40 PM Monday,April 27, 2009 my cell phone rang and the call said I had a call from a correctional facility (I didn't catch the name) from an inmate. It was a recording that said "You don't even write me. You could at least f*****g write me." It was repeated a second time and I hung up. This call was quite disturbing.

Got a call at 6:54am from this number, three rings and they hung up without saying a word.

Got 2 calls this monring one at 3:30 am and then 3 hours later.  IT was from a county jail in Dallas.  Don't know who it was.

I have been receiving calls from this #1-866-941-6033 for the last 2 weeks, he does not give up, I have not answered the call after the first time and I realized this had to be a scam but I wish the calls would stop.

i got a call from this number a few months ago n it actually was my ex boyfriend who is locked up in rite of passage...i jus missed a call from the same number....would it be him or someone else? but see i got a call from a homeboy in county jail wit the same number? hmmmm? wierd

i got a call from this number and it was my x-boyfriend...and it said i had one free call but it started to cut out when it said how to answer it...idk i nedd help and i want to know what facility it is he is calling from???

got a call from this number today with a recording saying it was a call from someone at our county jail and it actually named my county.  Since my ex was just arrested for not paying child support I figured it was him and it gave me great pleasure to hang up.

Got a call this afternoon and have no clue who it is.  I don't know anyone who is in jail!  Then called it back and says it is a correctional billing service!  Wow...dunno whats going on?!?

I think some of you are a little mistaken about the 'billing department' thing.  The Yellowstone County correctional facility the call originated from is located in Billings, Montana.

I didn't answer the call because I didn't recognize the number on my mobile phone.  I don't answer 866 calls, please figure this out and get the correctional facility to stop calling me

I received a call from this number last night at 10:30 p.m. CDT. The recording said it was from an inmate at a local jail and to accept the call and set up an account so the inmate could make calls press 1. I immediately hung up after hearing this as I knew it was a scam because my local tv station did a story on it several years ago.

Why isn't this being investigated???? Evidently enough people have received these calls. If it is known that its coming from an Alabama correctional facility why can't it be stopped? Seems it's been going on for quite awhile!!!!

My teenage son IS in a correctional facility, and it was his name that I heard, but I was unable to talk with him or to even set up an account.  I'm glad I read about this first, because it appears to be a scam, to get credit card #s.  The "inmates" are allowed to use a free phone for 15 minutes per day, but he didn't do that.  I bet someone has a cell phone, or they got to a pay phone, and I bet one of the kids there is coercing him into having a parent set up an account so they can access my credit card.  I will get to the bottom of this!

Got a call 9:27 pm Eastern time. "This is a call from  [The person said their name muffled ]" and then I heard sounds in the back ground for 10 seconds. I said "hello?" with no response from the noise and I hung up. So annoying.
