BEWARE!!!  I received a call from this number a day after I missed a call from 866-778-2821, which left a VM saying they were calling about my upcoming Bell order and needed to confirm some information.  I tried to call that number back, but it rang busy, and that number has been reported as a scam.

I received a follow-up call from 866-988-0885 a day later.  I missed it, called it back and got a very official sounding recording indicating I had reached Bell.  A person came on the line after the recording and said they were calling about my upcoming order but needed to verify my account.  He had my name, and asked me for my phone number and my birth date.  I gave him a phony birth date and he accepted it and said it had validated my account.  He said he could see I had a disconnect order at one address and an order for new service at another, and that he needed more info.  I asked him if my account had validated with my birth date and he said "yes."  I told him I was concerned, because that was a phony birth date, at which point he put me on hold and disconnected me.

After that I called the main Bell number and spoke to a customer service rep who said there was no record on my account of these previous contacts, and that there would have been if they were legitimate.  The Bell rep took the info and these two numbers and reported it to their fraud division.  She said they take this sort of thing very seriously and I would be contacted within 30-days to follow up (so not that seriously, I guess).

Not Bell Canada - scam. If Bell calls it always says Bell Canada on display. I agree with inside job. I just cancelled the phone line. Someone is giving these cancellation orders to the scam artists! I've blocked the number.

I stand corrected. It is Bell Canada trying to get me to cancel my cancellation order. They would give me a major discount and through further conversation, they were cancelling all my additional services to give me the discount. Nice try Bell.

Robo dialler, hangs up on voicemail.

Had this number call me three days in a row. No voicemail. On the third call I decided to answer. It was a company calling on behalf of Bell (I didn’t quite catch the name of the company). They confirmed my name and knew my Internet plan details.  Essentially they’re confirming customer satisfaction. (We only just recently switched to Bell.) There was a noticeable delay between my speaking and them heading my response though (and vice versa).  Possibly using a VOIP phone?

It's still SPAM! I wouldn't give any info and block the call.

they keep calling all hrs of the day. i never answer and they never leave a message.

I'm receiving at least 3-4 calls per day. The phone will ring twice, then it stops. I did answer at one
time, but there isn't anyone on the end. On the call display it indicates "Bell Canada".., then this
annoying number. I'm tired of it, so now I have it blocked.

Got fed up with calls coming from the 866-988-0885 number. I did answer once, but there wasn't anyo"ne on the other end. Day-before-yesterday just at dinnertime, the phone rang and again, according to the call display, the reading was "Bell Canada., 866-988-0885'. At that point, I'd had enough then I immediately put that number on call block. So far, so good. No more calls from that number.

This was a legitimate call from that phone company? Then why did you not contact them directly to get the calls to stop?
