- JKThis is legit. I called them back, they knew who my bank was, card# and all my recent transactions. Then notified me of a suspicious purchase attempt with someone using my card number that was declined. I confirmed it wasn’t me they put a block on my card. This is fraud protection service provided by your bank.

- Carol replies to MitchThis is a legitimate phone call. I had this call twice, first time was a fraudulent transaction, today was not.
- Donna| 1 replyI got a call on sunday. I didnt answer. They didnt leave any vm.
- Caller: Not sure
- Dan replies to DonnaThe call may or may not be legit, but regardless of that the best course of action is to call your local branch to verify. I NEVER call an 800 number that isn't connected with my financial institution. If it's an actual fraud alert, your bank or credit union can tell you for sure and deal with the situation (if one exists). There's no need to call an unknown 800 number to verify a fraud alert, and doing so is risky at best. Always call your bank or credit union at their listed number!
- Teresa replies to anonymousI received call from same number but to be on the safe side I called my bank directly. Was legit, we had been out of town and forgot to let bank know. Glad they were looking out 😀

- THINK ??Had a VM this mrng, saying to call this number, you all know the rest. Interestingly, my phone had been on, but showed no missed calls. Here's the "Think" -- real or not, doesn't it concern anyone that banks nationwide would give any independent operation complete access to everyone's personal and financial information. If this is indeed the case, I, personally, find this frightening !!
- Caller: [bank] Fraud Detection Center
- THINK ??UPDATE: Well, it's Monday, so able to check w our bank firsthand. Surprised me, but turns out this number is for ENFAC, an after-hour fraud detection center they use. There had been an attempt to use our card out of the country, FR (is that France), transaction was denied. Our card has been destroyed and a new one is being issued. As for me, if it happens again, will still wait til bank is open to handle situation personally. Best to all, hope this is helpful.

- wizbang_fl replies to John SharpALWAYS call your bank directly if they say ANYTHING about "Oh we are with your bank" blah blah blah... There is a little known capability fraudsters have called ANI Ghosting. In effect your caller id has the phone number of a company that is legit, but they have broken the code the phone companies use to generate caller id information. So the only way to be sure is if they give you a case number (DON"T GIVE THEM ANYTHING) then call the phone number on the back of your credit card or call the fraud department of your bank or credit card directly (not the number you look up in google but something on their website. Google washing is another way fraudsters can trick you into thinking a phone number is legit when it's not. If you doubt me google the name "Edwards Snow Den" It's a fake address for a hotel and when you actually pull up the map address it's in the middle of a city dump. But it has like 70 reviews that it is "wonderful", "memorable" and "out of this world experience" So call your bank directly tell them what they told you and if it is legit they will tell you the phone number to call or will connect you to the fraud dept, or they will review the charges with you and submit the info to them. But calling your bank from a known phone number (not googled, not a number they gave you to call when they called you, and not trusting what is on your caller id is real) is the safest way to not get scammed.
- R replies to John SharpI got a call said they said the same thing but said my bank's name; Axiom Bank instead.
