Completely legit, my bank is currently closed and I was attempting to purchase a laptop last night. Woke up this morning and received a call from this number. Did a quick search and read everyone else's comments on this page and decided to call them.

    Some important things to note:

    - They DO NOT ask for any private information.
    - It was an automated system.
    - If they ask for personal information (I.E. Credit card number, Social Security number, etc.) Politely decline and hang up.
    - I believe the Fraud Protection Center is a third-party that multiple banks and credit card companies outsource that stuff to.

Just called the number after I received a letter in the mail. It is legit.  It is a service that monitors unusual account activity.

Number is legit. Just dealt with them after they caught unusual activity on my account that I did not authorize. They did not ask for any info, other than to verify zip code, etc.

Got a call from this #, didn't answer it. The VM said it was for my Security National Bank account (I don't have one), for someone named Timothy. Obviously a scam/phishing call.

Folks this is a phishing scam. Look carefully at how the "positive" reviews are worded. They are way more informational and way more glorified/clarified/story-fied than any regular old reviews would be. Who even bothers to come to a site like this and publish a glowing review of a "fraud" unless they are trying to establish a counter to the bad reviews? If they had such a good experience, would they have even reverse googled the phone number to even bring this site up?
I DID get a call from this number saying that "suspicious activity" was found and a hold was placed on my account and to call them immediately. SO, suspicious internet user that I am, I called my BANK instead, and my account was in good shape, no problems. What these people really want is your ZIPCODE, because it is a piece of the puzzle to be able to USE your card in a fraudulent way. Ever buy gas at the pump with a debit card? The pump asks for your zipcode. So once they have your card and zipcode, they just need to process that info through a pincode hacking program, and voila, your card is at their mercy.

This number is actually real.  Its too bad that so many people here on the site are claiming is fraud as it will stop people from actually following up on it.

My wife received many calls from this number over the past 2 days and we were quite irritated and also thought it was a fraud.  I looked on this site and saw all of the people claiming its fraud and to not call back.  Well they then called again and I answered.  they said that they were calling on behalf of my bank and claimed to be a fraud detection company.  I didn't believe them so I called my bank directly.  The bank actually verified that it is in fact a 3rd party company that many banks around the country use to watch after their card users. It ends up my wife's card was being use by people in India to make purchases.

Please don't listen to these random people claiming this is fake. Do yourself a favor and follow up on it.

I am telling you that this is not a fraud.  Call your bank directly if you don't trust this number.  I also thought it was a fraud and so called my bank directly. They verified it was in fact a 3rd party company and they found users in India trying to use my wife's card.  Before you start saying its fraud and stopping people from watching after themselves you should verify your information.

This number is a legit.  Instead of calling this number back however I phoned the customer service number on the back of our debit card.  We did have several fraudulent charges on our card.  We were able to obtain a report number. After your card is canceled you will have to phone your bank to dispute the charges.

This IS LEGITIMATE.  This is a number from fraud protection services that work on behalf of banks and lending institutions that issue credit cards.  If they call you and you do not answer, they will leave a message with a reference number and they also identify the institution on whose behalf they are calling, such as your bank's name.  When you return the call, you are asked to enter that reference number--it is the only information you provide before you talk to a person.  After being connected to a service person, they again tell you who they are calling for (your bank or lending institution name--possibly a bank where your credit card is issued) and tell you there is suspected fraud or unusual activity on your card.  They will ask you to give them the exact name on your card and the last 4 of the social security number associated with the account.  They do not ask for account numbers or a PIN.  They contacted us and I missed the call, thenI was skeptical about calling back, which is how I ended up here.  Since it seemed to be legit per the answers, I did call them back and found there had been three purchases run on our debit card totaling over $600 in the previous week.  There had been four other purchases that were fortunately declined.  The representative I talked to was terrific.  She went back through our account with me to verify purchases to be sure there weren't more than originally suspected.  Again, THIS IS A LEGIT NUMBER--DON'T IGNORE A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER--it means there's a question with the use of your credit or debit card.

THIS IS NOT FRAUDULENT.  This is a company hired by financial institutions to watch for unusual or fraudulent activity including MY BANK.  I was hesitant to call because of POSTS LIKE YOURS but decided to go ahead and call.  I'm very glad I did.  Yes, they did verify who I was by name, final four of SSN and zip code.  And then I found out we had three unauthorized purchases made on our debit card totaling over $600 and three others that were declined.
Don't assume and post that something is fraudulent just because they ask for limited information--they have to have some way to verify they know who we are too!
Of course it's fine to contact your own banks if you are skeptical about something but don't assume it's fraudulent.  If your bank didn't tell you these people work for them, they certainly should have.  And for the record, if someone wants your zip code, they won't call you.  That information is EASILY accessed on the internet anyway.

This is not a phishing scam.  How do I know?  Because the representative I talked to went back through the recent history of my entire checking account  and reviewed my purchases to be sure I didn't have more fraudulent purchases than originally suspected.  Had she been looking for information to use my account fraudulently, she wouldn't have been able to give me back the information she did.  She already would have had what she needed if she was stealing from me.  In addition, I had a previous message from Overstock.com that was asking me to call back to verify an order before it was shipped.  And guess where one of the fraudulent purchases was from?  Overstock.com.  These calls weren't connected in ANY way.
I googled the number ONLY because I didn't recognize it and there were two missed calls on my phone in the same afternoon.
I am a newspaper editor so I am inclined to write more lengthy reviews but that doesn't mean I'm running some scam.  And with regard to your remark about "if my experience was so positive, why did I reverse google the phone number"--that doesn't even make sense.  My "positive experience" came AFTER checking out the number, not before.
The bottom line here is this:  If you're not comfortable calling a number, call your bank, which you did.  But to assume something is a scam because they asked for some limited information is unfair to people who are just doing the job they're hired and paid to do.  After all, they have to have a way to know that the people they're talking to are legitimate as well.

This is a legitimate call. It was a recorded message where you respond to the questions by pressing the number 1 or 2. This is from my  Federal Credit Union Fraud detection service. After verifying who I was and my account number of the last 4 digits of my credit card, they asked me to verify the last 3 transactions on my debit credit card. At the end of the call they told me to call the number on the back of my credit card if I had any questions.

below under "CALL TYPE" there is not an appropriate choice for me to select.

Interesting that some feel it's fake and others not.  For me, it was NOT fake.  I did call my bank directly and it was due to someone trying to use it.
