- JackieYes, it's legit. They called immediately after I used a different gas station and placed a block on my card. They did not ask for my financial information, they only went over the suspicious activity on my card. All purchases were those that I had made.
- CynthiaLDWe got a call Sunday afternoon 3/9/14. It used my husbands name and the last 4 digits of his card. We didn't trust it and called the # on the back of our debit card. They couldn't help. Monday, my husband called the bank and found that Angies list was trying to re-subscribe us for another year but our card number had change. They tried about 4 times and the fraud department flagged it. The bank doesn't see these flags because the employ this department before it gets to them. I went to the bank and they saw nothing on their system, we saw nothing on our online acct, but when they called their fraud department, it came up. My card was ok, but they are issuing a new card to my husband. I know it sounds like a fake, I would say call your bank on Monday, but it does turn out they were not a scam. hope this helps!!

- CatusgalI received a call from this number on 3/12/2014. It was an automated call and they identified themselves as Higherone, a banking institution I use. I hung up when I was unable to reach an actual person because I wouldn't provide any information. When I called back it hung up. I checked my account online and called my bank. The call WAS NOT from them. If you get a call from this number DO NOT give them any of your information it is a phishing call.
- Caller: Higherone
- C.L. DillonIt is legit. It is an automated call but your bank is notifying you about suspicious activity on our account. I called my local bank first and they verified that they had stopped suspicious charges from going through on my debit card. Someone tried to order $700 worth of product online using my #.
- Anonymous| 1 replyDO NOT ANSWER A CALL FROM THIS!! I got called 4 times in 2 hours. Got so annoyed I finally answered the call. They were trying to sell bladder control products. Then that night I had almost $1000 in attempted transactions show up on my debit card. I never gave out my number. This is one of those numbers able to pull information off your phone just by answering.
- cjaLegit. my bank verified this as third party fraud alert. they will ask for reference number from voice mail. they won't ask for any bank numbers.
- isisthis number calling you is a phishing scam! call your bank immediately! and phuck you phisher phucks!
- Caller: credit card fraud alert liars
- Melcalls around same time 9am or 9pm. never leaves message. i will not answer.
- SgtThey are the real deal they found some attempted charges and are now sending me a new card.
- DanLegit or not I don't know, but they aren't bright. Called and gave the last 4 digits of an abused debit card so they claimed but they refused to believe that we don't HAVE a debit card with those last digits. They called again, and again, and again, and again, and so on. We called them back and told them yet again that they had the wrong number but they continued with the above, calling again and again until I finally put them on my phones blacklist.
Whoever does own that card I wish them luck and I wish they'd have believed us instead of resorting to harassment of a wrong number. But for now their recording can talk to my recording because I'll never get a call from them again. - MCLegit fraud detection service set-up by your bank/financial institution. Call your bank first, they will verify if something happened. Then the bank will most likely ask you to call the 877 number back, with the case number given to you, and verify information with them. For once, an 800 service call that was actually doing something productive for the general public.
- JoanneThe voicemail left by this number claims to be an automated message from a bank (Pinnacle) reporting suspicious debit card activity. However, 1.) We do not have an account OR debit card through this bank at all, and none of our debit cards match the ending 4 digits they listed. 2.) The automated message says to "Have _David R. _" call at this number immediately and there is no one here by that name. & 3.) The number they called is on our emergency cell phone, and the number is not associated with ANY accounts nor has it been used to register anywhere.
Checked our accounts with our own bank and they are just fine.
Fraud much? If not then someone is using random cell phone numbers to fill out their banking information. Is always good to be on the safe side - never call back a number like this - contact your bank directly for information!- Caller: Fraud
- sdfgsdgIt's not fraud. This is the same # that calls if your card has Verified By Visa protection.
- KeiThey called me at 7 on Sat then 11a on sun/mothers day
- LouIts legitimate. I returned the call and noted that they did not ask for other identity info. They just had questions about some out-of-state transactions that I verified as legitimate.

- Kady FoxThis is a third party fraud protection number. My son got the call, but didn't answer. We looked it up on here and I advised him to call the number on the back of his debit card. He did. As soon as he told the member services rep what the number was, they verified that it is a third party number, used by many financial institutions.
The fraud flag was raised when my son tried to buy a Minecraft upgrade, online. Minecraft bills from Sweden, so the charge was denied by the credit union. (He was easily able to get the international charge ban waived temporarily, so he could get the game.)
This was a real call, from a real company, regarding a real issue. But for security reasons, if you don't wish to discuss it with the third party company, DO CALL your financial institution's fraud department.- Caller: Third party fraud protection, on behalf of our financial institution
- SmartieIf it was a legitimate number, you should be able to google the number and get directed to a company. In my case, I don't have a debit card with the bank they mentioned. And my bank doesn't have my cell number. Most likely a scam!
- IdahoguyI received a call from this number reciting the last 4 of a card I actually hold. As always, rather than calling back the number left on the v-mail, I called my financial institution directly. The customer service person there verified that the call was legitimate, but was able to take my information directly and verify that the questioned transaction was legitimate. I advise that, in circumstances like this, you NEVER call back the number left on v-mail, but, rather, initiate the call yourself to your financial institution -- if the call is legit, they can take care of any action needed.
- Surprise chargesI checked my bank account on my way to work this morning (8/27/14) and noticed 3 charges in another state at a grocery store. My bank doesn't open for another hour so I have to wait to see what this is about. In the meantime I received a voice mail from 877-253-8964 stating fraudulent activity was suspected on my card ending in #.... It gave me a 10 digit number to reference the call and I called them back. It asked me to enter the reference # and the last 4 of my card after I verified by a button push that I was [John A. Doe]. I didn't have my bank card accessible so I hung up. I called them back again and it asked me for the zip code of my account. I'm just going to call my bank and deal with them. I don't know how legit it is or not but I know 1) it could be a legit fraud agency connected to the bank; or 2) it could be the hacking organization getting more information. I'll update this with a new message after I talk to my bank directly.

- Surprise ChargesThis is a follow up to my first message (above).
I went to my bank and they canceled my card and issued a new one. I signed 3 identical affidavits stating I had possession of my card during the fraudulent activity to send to Visa and whomever else the bank sends them to and it was done. They are refunding my insufficent funds fee. It's up to Visa to decide if they're going to refund those charges but it should happen. Whether the phone number is legit or not, I still don't know but even if I hadn't checked my account and discovered the fraudulent activity before I got the call, atleast the call would have alerted me to check my account. I still think working directly with your institution is best. I'm not giving any information to a phone call that I didn't initiate. Not in today's world.- Caller: Fraud Detection Department
