Can you say idiot? Its called local touch/local tap, able to pull a number from a local area code and use it to call from, getting more pickups because its a number from YOUR area. And also. The number could be unused by the other company, or could be a transfer line. I know more then one business can use a single phone line, Idiot.

This is the same debt that I have never owed and have been called about by six collection agencies!!!  They are all the same agency that keeps changing the name and occassionaly calls as a law office!  (Yeah right)  I have been trying to find out who United Credit Recovery was since they started calling and I couldn't find anything on them, but I just found a link showing the owner has been in trouble for scamming consumers before.  The Kansas attorney general got him back in 2000.  http://kspace.org/bitstream/1984/13514/1/1073684436_00annualrpt.pdf  The owner's name is Leonard Potillo.  I couldn't find anything on the person they had listed as the owner up until a month ago.  I doubt it was even a real person.

I saw a post on one of the sites from the Colorado Attorney General warning that they are collecting without a license in Colorado.  You may want to check and see if they are licensed in your state.  Here are more links to their other phone numbers.  They also call from 8773650025, 8778131682 and 8004932143.

Let's face it folks, the company calling you is obviously not doing its homework and finds it easier to scam, invent, and rudely call people once, sometimes twice a day. These individuals have no common sense, as a matter of fact they work for peanuts, and because they work for peanuts, they have no clue of what they do.
This company is World Recovery Service. Another one of those fly by night scamming companies trying to get monies back from "they don't care who".
They are rude, you can barely understand them, and refuse to listen to your explanations on why they should not call you. So here is food for thoughts:

NEXT TIME YOUR PHONE RINGS, DON'T ANSWER IT (unless you know the person who is calling you, providing you have caller id). I no longer answer my phone unless I know the number.

They switch their number every day or something and according to posts on the Internet they do not leave messages and only call themselves "recovery services" so they are tough to track and report but they were calling last week from 2163738692 and 2297960084

They're still calling my number that I've asked to have removed. Isn't that against the law or something? How do I make them go away?

Now i understand that alot of people may b frustrated because they r being called & they don't even know the person that they are calling for, however if they are calling for you & it is UR valid debt suck it up & get it tooken care of. I no that the economy is bad right now but the bottom line is that it is ur debt, & yes by law they are required to send a validation letter to give you the chance to dispute it but if you have moved then how are you going to receive that letter, it seems to me that everyone wants to make a dollar instead of paying their debts but n all reality don't overdraw an acct that you cannot afford to pay back don't get a credit card & go over the limit and plan on not paying it back that is why the economy is bad now. If u owe it suck it up & deal with it make a arrangement do what you can don't just say I aint going to pay this that's ridicoulous pay your bils & quit complaining if you didn't like one persons attitude then speak to someone else because i believe their is one bad seed in every bunch no matter what company you work for. & p.s if you get a phone call & its a recording quit being noisy and hang up it's that simple. Call them back & let them know they have the wrong person haven't u ever heard you talk & treat people the way u want to be treated well just remember that the person on the other end of the line deserves the same respect & yes i know the fdcpa & all of the state laws if ur curious & keep in mind it is also a criminal offense to listen to someone elses phone calls thats why your suppose to hang up when prompted to if the message isn't for u so i would think about that law to!!!!!!!!!!!!

Almonte had been working at Chase for only a few months when she was asked to pitch in on a deal to sell 23,000 credit card accounts from customers behind on their payments. Debt collection agencies buy the accounts for pennies and keep any money they can collect from the customers, as reported in a series by American Banker.

All the accounts had "judgments" on them, meaning that Chase had already taken these cases to court, sued the customers involved for failing to make payments and won the lawsuits. Before the sale took place, Almonte was asked to check the amount owed and the court's ruling in each case.

After reviewing more than a third of the files, Almonte's team reported back to her that nearly 60 percent contained some sort of major error, including discrepancies about the amount or whether the court had indeed ruled for the bank. Concerned, Almonte went up the chain of command, flagging the errors and encouraging management to halt the sale. Instead, the bank fired Almonte and completed the deal in December 2009. Chase declined to comment for this story, as did the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, which is currently investigating the bank.

You are speaking out of a biased thinking habit. You have no clue what you are saying, and have no clue what people are dealing with. Until you do, you need to keep your mouth shut. Don't judge others, because one day God will judge you.

Forget the BBB, send them one cease and desist letter, certified mail. When you get the verification they got it, wait for them to call ONE more time. Take down the number, name of the person calling, date, and time. Go to the Federal District Court nearest your home and file paperwork for harassment and illegal debt collection practices. For me, it's a $300 filing cost, but in Ohio, you can include that cost in the lawsuit. You can also sue for the amount that they are attempting to collect against you. Then depending on your State, you can add money for the kick of it, i.e. In Ohio, you can add up to another $1000 for personal reasons. I have already done this and trust me, it works and it gets them to stop calling!

Being out of stats means nothing!  Yes, they cannot take you to court if it is out of stats. However, just before it gets out of stats, if the debt is high enough mark my words, they will take you to court.  Now, if it is out of stats and ABC Debt collection company OWNS this debt, they can at their digression continue to call you, write you and ADD interest to your little lets say 200.00 account.  Now, if they keep it for 3 yrs and then all of a sudden you want to purchase a home or start a business well guess what, you are in chex systems and your little 200.00 debt is now 1800.00 which you get to pay in full so you can get your hinney out of chex systems. So, which scenario looks better to you -- paying the 200.00 for the 10.00 over draft, or paying the 1800.00 ????    I guarantee you that the debt collection company will KEEP you in Chex system until the debt is paid!!  So instead of believing these people that do not know anything about how debt collection works, how about calling chex systems and find out for yourself.   You can order a copy of your report from ChexSystems.  https://www.consumerdebit.com/consumerinfo/us/en/chexsystems/report/index.htm
