I get calls daily from this number. When I don't pick up, it rings 20 times. When I do pick up, it's a recorded voice that WON'T GO AWAY when I hang up, wait, then pick up again to see if I have a dial tone. The voice is still there. It's tying up my phone line whether I answer or ignore it. I want them to stop. They are scavengers. Whatever it is they want, they're not getting it.

I have been getting calls from these people for months. Technically, once you have not made payments on a card for 180 days the credit card company must write it off (a charge off) as bad debt. For more than about six months now, they have called almost every day one or more times each day, usually between 11 AM and 7 PM CST. They rarely leave a voice mail message, but one time they left the following recorded message: "If you are Reginald C****** (my correct last name) press the 8 key (?); if you are not Reginald C******, press the 4 key (?)." I pressed the * key to end the call. They called twice yesterday.

I have not had any mortgage debt for more than 2 years now, and I have not had any consumer debt for more than 25 years now.

My guess is that it is a computerized call generator working for a creditor company or a debt collection agency.

The right man, me, answered the call from the wrong company to be sure. They have been calling me a few times here lately looking for a woman named Rhonda or Wanda. I prompted via keypad that I was not the person, but kept calling me anyway repeatedly. Today, I answered or keypadded I was the woman indeed (the closest to cross-dressing or sex change as I will get, lol). When the rep came on, she was hateful so I became very angry with her and demanded to get her name, company name, threats of suing her and the company and guess what? I got her name and company which she stated was Cardworks Services, TMerrick Bank, PO Box 9201, Old Bethpage, NY 11804  I did notice with above comments Merrick Bank, so that could be it, and of course the address difference which the above may actually be a better physical address.

Now for the juicy part you all need to know about: Next time they call, see if they can hang up on you because the rep could not with me due to my antiquated line being CPC. If you have this, then the company cannot disconnect from you, so leave the low-lifes on the line for hours, and do not let them transfer you either, so demand and be in control. It worked for me!

Never leave a message. Call constantly, 3 and more time per day, always on my cell phone. Very annoying. Called them and they said it was Card Works Servicing, They said they work looking for someone that I had never heard of, appreciated my call and would take my number off the list. So we shall see!!!!

This number calls me several times a day and do not leave a message.  When I do answer they hang up.  I finally called the number back and got a person who said it was Card Words Services.  I then said kindly said to the person answering the phone:  "Hello, you have been calling me and calling me and leaving no message.  When I am home and I do answer you hang up on me.  Therefore, I am doing the same to you and please do not call me further.  I have reported you for harassment." and then I hung up on them!

These people call several times a day, most are hang ups, some calls ask me to return calls. I was so upset today that I call this number 877-487-5583, spoke with a Patrica and a Debbie I was informed that this call was about a Capital One acct with Northstar. I unformed Debbie that I never had a acct with these people and to stop calling me, she said she woud send this acct back to Northstar. I also informed her that calling my home at 8.00am was not lawful she said that they can start to call at 8.00 is thus true?

There was a dateline special about these types of companies, which are nothing more than 'gangs' of fraudulent criminals.  These people obtain outdated debt info, often from accounts which have been lelgally settled years ago, and simply try to bully or scare people into sending them money. The one on dateline was an office full of minotities who made their "collections" at a  grocery store western union counter.  Best bet is to not answer when they call, as they thrive on getting under your skin.  There are phones available which have 'call block' features built in which will prevent your phone from ringing when these numbers call.

I am so freeking tired of these people.. I DO NOT owe any past due credit cards.. Merrick Bank calls all day all night up to 9pm.. ARE THEY NUTS?? I am on the do not call list.. Debt Collection Company

This Company keeps calling my father-in-law and asking for my husband, the funny thing is he hasnt lived there for several years and my father-in-law is elderly and has many health problems.  So finally got the # and called and gave their hrs as mon-frr-8am-9pm and closed on sundays he said this has been goin on for several wks and my husband does not have any credit cards and neither do I.  I filed Bankruptcy in Aug 2008 and was discharged in Feb 2009.  So STOP CALLING BECAUSE WE HAVE AND MY HUSBAND HAVE NO CREDIT CARDS!!!!!!!
