PO Box 5721
Hicksville,NY 11802 - Rebecca| 1 replyOk, so today I received several phone calls from this number both on my cell phone as well as my home phone. I call the number back after finding out that it was a collection company. I asked them who were they looking for, and here they are telling me that they are looking for my husband, and started asking me the last 4 digits of his social security number, and when I refused to give it, the guy started yelling at me. I explained to him that we were already making payments to another company regarding the account, and he told me they would keep calling me as much as they wanted day and night regarding this account.

- wjn replies to RebeccaAsking for the last 4 digits of the ssan or, for example, his birth date, or address, is an acceptable means of verification. Such measures are taken to protect against a person's confidential information being given to the wrong, unauthorized individuals.
I work for Cardworks Servicing, and if I had spoken to you and you declined to give verification information, I would have just asked you to take a message for your husband to call back.
No skin off my back, and you probably would not have been offended by that.
The person you spoke to should have politely left a message, then after a sufficient number of days, say three or so, resumed calling.
I apologize for the way you were treated, will you please have your husband call us? - Question for wjn - Jake| 2 replies****** Hey WJN ******
I see you work for a CA. Could you give me some advice on this ?
We have been getting old debt calls for my wife's ex-boyfriend, from almost 10-years ago recently.
I had been giving his contact info to them in the past, however, latest we heard, he's living
in a tent in someones backyard down south. (He's a drunk and lost the place where he lived)
I have passed this info on to them, and they have said they would remove our number
from their calling list. The last guy I spoke to, I could tell, really felt for my situation.
Even saying something like, 'sorry to bring up a sore subject' - meaning my wife's ex.
The calls stop for about a month, then someone else starts calling.
(They sell off the debt - to another CA, would be my guess )
Is there anyway to stop this repeated chain of events from happening, over and over?
The guy doesn't live in the state where we live. Lives in a tent down south, somewhere,
and are just tired of the calls.
Just seems like, this CA finds out he's not here, attempts to find him down south, can't locate him
and then gives up. Next, they must be selling his debt to another CA and then it starts all over again.
Any ideas WJN ? ? ?- Caller: Another Debt Collector / CA

- Bankruptcy 7They call and if try to check our answering machine. I wish when I answered they would talk to me so I can tell them we filed chapter 7 bankruptcy. If I can prove these sperm donors are checking our answering machine, I wouldn't have to file bankruptcy..I would own Merrick bank. Bunch of Jackholes!! Guess I will have a cease and desist sent along with copy of Chapter 7 BK!

- Melissa replies to JamesJames,
I have almost the same exact scenario as you do with these people, except I only spent $200 on the card, paid it off, and then they tacked on an annual fee (After saying there would never be one!), then late charges for the PAID-OFF $200...although my payment was NOT late! I wasn't going to pay it twice, so I quit paying them, and it shows as charged off on my credit statement as well. They have been calling for years, and when you do get a person on the line, they are very nasty! They need to be investigated! - V landisThey sent me an email saying I was a few payments behind on my Kohls account payments and to call the customer service team at 877-487-5583. I haven't even made a kohls purchase since May of 2015.
