I got a call from a Robert Lawrence who says I received a payday loan from My Payday for $400.00 that was  deposited into my current banking account in May of 2011. I did some research and this deposit does not exist but somehow they have my social security number and banking information. They also have threatened to garnish my wages. I told him that I had lost my job, my apartment, and all my belongings including my pets so there was no way I did this. I learned my lessons from my previous pay day loans and will not repeat that mistake ever again..

I received a call from a Ms. gilmore from PDL, at work stating I had a garnishment that will be going to my employer and for a cash loan. I didn't think anything of it because I do have one out there. I gave her a prepaid visa card number, good thing no money was on it yet. I got to thinking about after a while and remember that I just set up a payment plan with the people I owe funds to (which are legitimate, because I am working with the company directly). So i decided to enter the number here and good thing I did not load any money on my card. She called me twice at work since and would not give any information to contact her back and then she called my cell and left two different numbers to contact her back at.

I am thankful that these sights are out here otherwise I may have been out some money and still be paying the other company as well.

Now she is calling saying it is not a garnishment but a wage reassignment or something like that where they can take funds without a court judgement or any legal action. I told her I am not able to take personal calls at work and they keep calling. Then they call my cell 4 or five times.

I received this same call. From A Liz Gonsalas at 877-601-5871 ext 264 the # came thru at 630-486-1900 and when I called back and asked for that extension I got Alex Turner NOT this Liz person. And after getting to 2 people they still hadn't identified their company. And I had to ask. ANYONE that is familiar with Debt collection knows YOU MUST IDENTIFY YOURSELF and your company before discussing ANYTHING.So he told me it was for a payday loan from mypayday.com which I haven't heard of before, and I asked when the loan was taken out and he couldn't give me th origination date. I advised I had never rcvd anyting in writing and until I do they are in violation. He got pissed and started to yell and I started repeating his name and phone # back to him and asked for the address so that I could add it to my police report and he said to have them try and call and hung up on me.
Oh well... sorry no $ from me dude

I received a call at work from this number, a Ms. McGarrey or McGarret stating that there was going to be a 25% wage assigment order placed on my paycheck. It's my understanding that they need a court order for this. I have never at any time received a cash advance or "pay day loan". This is harrassment and absurd. I researched EW Collections (since I saw previous posters stating that reps had given this as a company name) and found the following site:
    http://www.ewcollections.com/
If you go to their "contact us" section there are 3 emails listed. I sent them all an email simply stating I was not sure whether they were legitimate or not but obviously companies they represented were not. I also gave them the phone number of 877-601-5871 that called me. Whether anything will come of it or not, I don't know. But this is making me stomach sick that so many people can be targeted like this and threatened when they're innocent. If you have a few minutes, please contact them!! Maybe if they get enough emails it will spur an investigation.

I have been receiving a lot of these phone calls too.  As matter of fact one this morning about 25 minutes ago.  Said they were going to take my wages and my license,   It was a Mr. Jim Short.  The no. is 1-877-601-5871.  He has been calling me at my work too and my boss has been getting upset with it.  I refuse to talk to them now and am going to talk to my lawyer about this.  I know that I did not take a loan out in 2009 and have proof that I didn't do it.  People who get this phone call, don't believe the BS that they are giving you.  Why pay for something that you didn't do?

i received a scary voice mail from a very deep voiced man calling himself brian westbrook. i  was to call 877-601-5871 as he said he was an attorney and that i was going to have a judgement against me, garnish wages and suspend my license. i had no clue what it was about so i returned the call and ended up talking to and man named alex. he could not give me info on when i supposedly took out a pay day loan but said it was from united cash advance for $500 and it was now $2238 BUT i could pay it today for $395 or go to court. i only had today to pay it. alex said they did not have to alert me to this matter because he said i electronically signed a document saying that they did not have to alert me. i was very upset and racking my brain over this since i had no clue what he was talking about. i looked it up online and of course found all of the scammer info. i called back saying that my attorney told me it is a scam because by law they had to tell me what court and give me detailed info in writing by usps. he tried to say my attorney could talk to their attorney but i said no, that i would be expecting info in the mail. so i will wait and see what happens next, but there is no way they will get a cent from me. oh, by the way alex was very nice and very understanding as he insisted i must pay this so he must have thought you get more money with honey.....

A Jason Lock called my work and left a disturbing message so I was confronted by my supervisor about. I have no clue to what it was about or is it a debt that I didn't incur. It maybe from long ago, I just don't know but Mr. J. Lock hasn't returned my call so I'm worried. Is This a SCAM?!

I got a phone call from these people also. I was scared they would garnish my wages and I would get into trouble, that I actually paid them. I guess being naïve didn't help me, but is there any way to get my money back?
