It's been 3 weeks and I haven't gotten any more calls from American Agency, so asking them to take me off their list must have work. I can't believe they kept their word! I should have given them my ex's number!

You know, I have never gotten calls like this before, and I have nothing on my credit (negative). Yet I start pulling student loans to help pay for school and I get all this crap. I think banks are selling our numbers to collection agencies.

I not be handing my cell # out ever again.

Debt collector for Pacific Bell/Pac Bell phone co.(among other things) Send them a Cease & Desist letter, certified/return receipt, if they continue to contact you after that, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC.gov) AND the California Attorney General (http://ag.ca.gov)

I copied/pasted that from another sight about this #.  I called them and as soon as a human answered I asked her if the address was correct, then told them a fake name and my real number and asked her to remove me from the list.
I think letting her know I knew the address right off the bat may have helped. if they continue after 48 hours i will send a certified letter.

Never been so annoyed by a phone number!  They call at least 3 times a day, EVERY day!  They don't even leave a message.  I never answer or call it back.  If it's important, they'd leave a message.  If this is on behalf of AT&T/Pacific Bell, it may be legite as my husband has something on his credit report in regards to that, but I'm afraid to call them back after everything I've been reading.  I'm not sure I want to deal with it.  It's like $300 and it's from 6 years ago!!  Give it up already!  I guess I'll just let my lawyer deal with it!!

Watch these people. They have started tracing people you are related to and leaving messages, like you are going to court and etc. They are calling in-law's house looking for me. They need to be shut down. If I owe a bill it is way over ten years old. Can't collect. Beware they will call family.

They are STILL calling about my ex who hasn't lived here in TEN YEARS!! Idiots. I've told them, they 'make a note', and they keep calling. I guess I need to send the written notice, at least that way I can SUE them for their continued harassment!

I have been receiving calls from American Agency almost daily for weeks.  I do not return the call because it is a recording and the message gives no information about the call.  It has become very annoying and I think I am on a Do Not Call list so I do not understand.  The phone number left is :  877-728-8912

Female caller from American Agencies. I've called and told them I'm on a no call list they just don't stop !

Called 877 number - got Mumbai call center - asked for supervisor - got someone in Rancho Dominguez, CA - She agreed that supposed debt from 1999 is unreportable to credit bureau (7 year statute of limitations) and uncollectible by lawsuit (4 year statute of limitations), but debt is "moral" obligation until paid - I advised that I'm not THAT moral and will never pay.

A woman who identified herself as "Emma" actually called me by my first name! Said I needed to call her back!

This company has called several times a day.  An average of four times a day.  Thank god I can tell it's them via Caller ID and so I just ignore it.  But it's still extreamly frustrating!  Once I answered and they were extreamly rude even started cursing at me.  I thought 'yeah right and they expect me to believe them?' They asked if I were claiming faud and I said, "Absolutly!"  didn't get calls for several months and now just recently it started up again.  Funny thing is I have perfect credit, even bought a house so jokes on them if they think I'm going to believe their little game.  Freakin' Sammers!

Same as other comments - a recording says that they have a personal matter to discuss and need me to call them back at 877-728-8912. I do not return calls like this, but this is getting really annoying.

They leave a very tricky message for you to call them back without mentioning the motive or the reason of the call ,

This agency has been calling 2 or more times daily for months on a debt that is past the statute of limitations - supposedly $367. I just called them and told them to cease calling immediately. I had to repeat that 4 times as they still tried to weasel money out of me. They try every trick there is and still won't give a straight answer. Anyway, I hope it works.

I got calls everyday from this number and it become so annoying. I already reported to do not call.gov. Pleas stop it!!!

This is the second round of calls I am receiving from this number.  Last year they told me I owed $147 to ATT even sent a coupon offering me 1/2 off the amount owed.  I asked them to send a registered copy of the bill which never materialized.  They quit calling then but have now resumed.

I had to deal with these chumps a year ago, they were calling every night on my home phone.

Finally the calls stopped.

Now this morning, I get a call on my work phone. There should be laws against companies like this, it is so effin frustrating.

My husband received a call from this number. He called them back and was told he owed on a phone bill from like 15 years ago! He told them to never call him again and they said that they would continue to call and got really snippy.
