I was recieving calls from these people two years ago.  They were calling me almost 3 times a day...every day. The calls finally stopped.  They insisted I owed money from a Pacific Bell bill from 10 years ago and they kept telling me it was on my credit report.  I told them there was no way it could be on my credit report since I paid off all my debt prior to purchasing my new home. I even told them I didn't understand how they would try to reach me after 10 years.  I basically told them I am not that stupid to wait for the interest rate to be over $1K before contacting them and if they really needed to find me, they would have found me a long time ago.  Anyway...If they tell you that your information was forwarded to them from some collection agency ask them to provide you with the bill that shows you have an unpaid balance.  They sent me my bill but it did not show that I owed PacBell anything.  I brought this up to them and since then I haven't recieved a call.  
To everyone recieving calls from these people, my advice would be to stand your ground.  What they are doing is a scam and I hope nobody falls for it.

I'm receiving daily prerecorded phone calls on my cell phone from this number asking me to call the number back.

A man identifying himself as "Tom" called my place of business and asked for me by my maiden name (I haven't used my maiden name in 25 years) and proceeded to tell me I had an overdue debt to AT&T for 150 pounds.

Yeah, he used the "personal matter" line to get past our receptionist.

Totally fraudulent.

Have received many calls & they identify as American Agencies, not a sales call, but don't give a name or reason for call. Maybe call blocking or anonymous call rejection would work on not allowing these calls to come through?!?

I keep gettiong calls from the same number as all of the others.  I have actually called back on two different ocassions and the number has been disconnected so my dilemna is I can't tell them to quit calling.  Does anyone know how to get them to stop callin.  I receive atleast three calls a week!!!

This number calls me twice daily and I am going nuts!!!  I know it is a scam or fraud or whatever.  How do I get it to stop???

They would call me everyday just a little past 8 AM. They would call on my cell phone. I tried to talk to a manger to make the calls stop but they kept calling.
The way I got around this wa to go to a site called youmail.com and I downloaded a mewssage that say the number is no l onger a working number....etc. and It also gave me the option to no let them leave a VM.

American Agencies left 25 voice messages for my x-wife during the month of December. They call during the week and weekends and totally clog up my voice mail. How do I stop these harassing calls?
