- uptotheair replies to theaThanks for the truth. Must be paid to lie
- CarWilCalls late at nigjt. Doesn't leave messages
- sky replies to MThey are very rude! Several times they bypass the 888 number and use a local number.
- sky replies to KaySend back the same pages they send. Good idea with a note, "you don't want to work with me on paying for the loan, so here you go."
- JR Vanover| 1 replyI had two calls from this number asking for someone I've never heard from, so I called it back. A recording asked for my social security number, so I made one up. When it asked what I was calling about, I said "Change phone number." I was put on hold to wait for an operator. When one came on I gave her my (real) name and told her I was getting these calls. She was very polite and responsive, apologized, and said that possibly my number had been given to them by someone else. She said she would remove my phone number from their system, although it might take 48-72 hours to update the robo-callers. Fingers crossed, but I'm feeling good about this right now.
- Caller: Sallie Mae/Navient
- Call type: Debt collector
- NDawn replies to JR VanoverI tried this method, too. Didn't work for me. They are STILL calling.
- wes replies to SPCWill you stop calling me ! nobody here by the name you ask for.
- SaraThis number calls multiple times a day and hangs up as soon as I answer. Going to report it to the fcc as harassment.
- Alan PardueThey keep calling and hang up when I answer...
- Michele replies to shannah smithIf the school you got the loans for turns out to be a scam--like University of Phoenix or Concordia College--you can get your loans forgiven.
- MicheleI have an account with Navient, but a couple of years ago a friend told me how to reduce or even eliminate--until later--what I owe. I'd used up both deferment and forbearance. I checked out the information he gave me--sorry folks, don't have it with me--and after applying, based on my income I was told by Navient I didn't have to pay anything. However, every month I get a statement from them with the amount I'm supposed to pay. Uh, my amount to pay is supposed to be zero, remember?
This morning I got a call from this number. Since I have a new phone, I answered, saw the 888 number, and said nothing. Nobody on the other end said nothing, so I hung up. I didn't ask to be in my state's Extremely Low Income bracket, I work part-time, but I still don't earn enough to make payments.
To the person who gave the info on Cease and Desist, etc.--thank you. I just might look at me account, check to make sure I understand the option I selected and see if we can reach an agreement on something. I don't like being in debt, long story, blah, blah, blah, but I just checked my credit report and my rating is good.
And if you get a call from an aggressive, threatening person claiming to be from Navient/Sallie Mae, get as much information as you can, then hang up. Then report them. One person above did that, and got them off her back.- Caller: Navient

- Jo-Ann MeagherWe have been getting recorded phone messages for years. I will try to call the listed customer service number that another person said to call.

- CBToday 7/11/2016 is my 2nd...second...2nd time filing an online complaint with National Do Not Call Registry about 8882725543 Navient/Sallie Mae harassing me with daily voice mails. I have NEVER processed any business of any kind with Navient/Sallie Mae. I went through a conference call with my cell provider T-Mobile and Navient representative "Jeff" months ago to make them stop harassing me to no avail. After filing an online complaint with National Do Not Call Registry the first time, Navient stopped calling daily. Last week, Navient started daily calls harassing me again.
- Caller: Navient / Sallie Mae

- Michele replies to rockie713I'm in the same boat as you. But I'm not in a position to pay anything. My life is busy, and I let my deferment lapse. I think, like all other collections, they should stop trying to collect after 6 years.
- MicheleI think I'm going to put all of Sallie Mae/Navient's collection numbers in my phone labeled Navient 1, Navient 2, etc. so I'll know when they call and I can keep track. I've emailed them once to ask them to stop calling me, and they did--for a few weeks. I might have to get tough with them.

- Michele replies to What to doA better number to forward to is the FBI, your local police department, Department of Consumer Affairs....you get the idea.;)
- Michele replies to ConfusedOh, grow up, you stupid troll! Are you aware of the state of the economy right now? Lots of jobs going overseas, too much competition for the ones still here, so don't judge unless you've walked a mile in others' shoes. You don't know everyone's circumstances, so who are you to judge? Work a little bit harder on improving your low self-esteem, you stupid freak! The only reason you're so judgmental is you're insecure so you tear other people down to build yourself up.
