I wasn't even stupid enough to fall for this baloney.  Our phone number is unlisted, and whoever this scamhole is, they are trying to get people to respond so they have your phone number.  That is probably one reason.

Sent to Michigan (we're not seniors) told to schedule pickup and call 888-465-0877.  Lists package number and hours to call (EST).  After reading all the other posts I will not call this number and will see where to file a complaint.

On April 26, 2010, I received a green postcard with no return address on either side of the card.  It has a 28-cent uncancelled polar bear stamp on it.  The card says, "Please call to schedule pickup: (888) 465-0877."  Below that, it gives a unique 12-digit package number.  Below that, it says "Hours: M-F 8:AM-5:PM (CST), Sat 8:AM-12:PM (CST)."  Below that, it shows my name and address and is followed by a bar code at the bottom.  I will not call the number, but I will hang on to the card in case I find out who is sending them out and need to provide it as physical evidence of an attempted scam.  I have also recently been receiving, but not answering, telephone calls from (877) 221-5933.  It shows up on my caller I.D. as a toll-free call.  Whoever is calling from this number never leaves a message on my voice mail, but they call once a day, usually in the morning.

I also received a post card with the phone number 888-465-0877 to call for a schedule pickup.  Also had a package number.  Didn't order anything so I'm not calling.  Pretty sure it's a scam since any reputable company would have a return address on the postcard.

Got the postcard as described by so many, ours does has a CANCELLED STAMP AND POSTMARK: the postmark is EAST TEXAS P& DC75708 30 APRIL 2010.  We are in Michigan, also, but the card appears to have been really mailed.  There is also the barcode across the bottom placed by the post office when they cancel it.

This is a scam -- we all need to report it --do not know where to go with this but there are too many such scammers and if we allow this to go on, our country will become a third world country too.  Our laws do not seem to work for common people they are in favour of such scammers, wall street, doctors, lawyers, oil companies and insurance companies..

I do not know how many people may have been taken advantage of in this scheme but please beware and DO NOT CALL THAT NUMBER.  We do not know how they misuse your call.  This is not needed in our pile of things to take care of.

It's a scam .  Type the package number using the USPS website link: http://www.usps.com/shipping/trackandconfirm.htm and it won't give any info on the tracking #.  Secondly, yes there's the 28 cent Polar Bear stamp.

In closing, don't be a dumb [***] and research stuff before calling #s, responding to official looking e-mails saying one's account (i.e. Paypal or Bank) is in jeopardy.
