- HMG| 2 repliesI am from the Dallas area, and also got a postcard. This one has an American Airlines logo on it. I smelled a rat as soon as I saw the postcard front. The AA logo is super clean—but the photo is pixilated and obviously stolen from the internet. As an art director, I am certain a world-class company like AA would not send out something so sad. The message was also scammy feeling. Glad for the confirmation I found on this site! Thanks!!!

AA card received using the 888-639-6990 card, supposedly the pitch is "new travel agency in town, we are hoping that you will utilize us for future travel needs, called Platinum Travel". This almost seemed legit as I travel AA very frequently. - Me2THANKS FOR THE CONFIRMATION...IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT USUALLY IS!! The post card that I received yesterday in the mail, complete with "American Airlines" logo...certainly caught my interest because I was in the process of planning a trip. It read:

Thanks for the post I didn't call... and they should also be thankful for I practice my second amendment rights diligently and would of invited my friends Smith & Wesson to hear the spiel... Scammers only understand onething well maybe six...
- DFW AreaExact same offer. From looking at all of these posts, this has been going on for at least a couple of years.

- MirnaJust received a postcard from AMERICAN AIRLINES!! Same description, call within 48 hours, etc.....
I will call AMERICAN AIRLINES to ask them why these people are allowed to use their name and logo. Hopefully AA will do something to stop it! - Skeptical recipient replies to from Los Angeles, CA| 1 replyMarch 13 2013. I just recieved the same postcard in Saco, Maine. The only thing different is the phone number which is 1-888-939-3648. If it seems too good to be true, it usually is.
- cynicalguy replies to CraigI got the same postcard today except its for Delta. Does not give an addr. Postmarked from Las Vegas. 888_639_6990.
- AAFW-0315Just received a similar post card described so well by many in these posts. Any company that is hiding and using another companies name to push their product probably shouldn't be trusted. I'm glad I was curious enough to see if anyone else had experience with this promo before calling.

- Mondo, Maine replies to Chris, Bostongo the same thing supposedly from Delta, offering "2 roundtrip airfares" mailed from Las Vegas permit no. 2736.
Throwing away. - Elke| 1 replyI received a post card with the written part of the post card showing the American Airlines logo and then it says "In celebration of our new year packages we've selected you to receive 2 round trip airfares to anywhere in the contiguous United States - good for the next 12 months!" Call within 48 hours and receive a 3 day 2 night hotel stay at major brands...
On the reverse side is a picture of an airplane supposedly American Airlines. Underneath the picture is the
AA logo along with American Airlines and Fly Away Promotion.
Thanks to all the folks who wrote about their experiences. I am now better informed. However, on the plus side is that you and your guest have the option of choosing where you want to fly in the contiguous USA.
You will have to spend a certain amount of time to listen to their spiel and the rest of the time is apparently
yours to do what you wish. In my book, I think that is a nice break from my regular routine.
So for a small amount of money (I would be responsible for taxes and fees) I get a chance to say hello to
family or a romantic getaway for a more than reasonable cost and all I need to do is choose where I want
to fly and then listen to their spiel.. Does anyone see a downside to my tentative proposal?- Caller: 1-888-639-6990

- againpost card from las vegas, permit no. 2736. after a little digging I was informed this is indeed a scam, AA wont honor this offer. question: isn't there a paper trail to get the permit? permits are not free, someone paid for it...in cash? hard to trace but dont you have to provide some info to get the permit. who applied for this permit. my new hobby is attacking these people and maybe some lawsuits.
