- Scotiabanker| 1 reply@Chris, I'm sorry to hear that we lost you as a customer and I'm sure your branch would be more then happy to deal with you regarding this. I know how annoying it is being called (my household gets called all the effing time for window cleaning etc) and it is not our intention to lose customers with calling them. I wish I could magically have it all stop but I will tell you that we are doing everything we can to have to have them investigate this and fix it! Us employees know its not normal.
Please keep in mind that we are just doing our job and even though people literally rip us to shreds for it on the phone, we're people just like you (some employees are more annoying then others and we can't stand some of them too). We do have feelings even though they may want us to act like robots, and we are someones child, wife, husband, sibling, cousin etc etc just like anybody else.- Caller: Employee

I have nothing to do with them? Never have. Like everyone else on this thread from 2007, I'm getting calls twice a day. Friggin annoying........and yes, I'm on the do not call list.

- Rasta| 1 replyCalled on Saturday at 1:40PM. 1-888-882-3811. I don't accept any 888,800, or other Toll Free number (or any from North Dakoda, where a fraudster operates and makes weekly calls). I use a $15 modem, and some inexpensive software to give the tone " This number is no longer in use" sound, and drop the call. Usually, this is more effective than actually saying DO NOT CALL ME AGAIN, since the autodialer will move your number from the Active list to the Dead call list. If you say DON'T CALL ME, they might not, but they also know it is a working number now, for selling to other telemarketers.
I see others saying this is a Scotia Bank call. I don't have a Scotia Bank account, so they are wasting my time and theirs if I humour them by answering. If it were MY bank, they have been warned also, I pay for paper billing, so send a stamped envelop without calling, if you have something to say to me.
I also blocked my own Phone Company (BELL) for failure to provide me with the service they promised me with the purchase of a BUNDLE, for all Star Features and call blocking feature. It does not block all numbers, so I block them all with my own software now. - Toronto99 replies to Scotiabanker@ Scotiabanker. Thank you very much for being informative regarding the Scene Program and Scotiabank who have been calling me. I will update my preferences to put "No Marketing Calls".
Great advice. - Bob replies to cdwSmells like organized crime.
- Just meHow long does it take someone to figure out the reason you keep cutting them off is because you don't want their business?!
- really? replies to peevedA little dramatic don't you think?
- wysiwygThanks to my voip's service call filtering (voip.ms), this number has been blocked and automatically disconnects when called (never rings on my lines). I do this for all telemarketing and unkown/blocked numbers.
- GRI just now got a call from the mentioned 18888823811 number and they asked for my wife name. They said it is in regards to her "VISA" card which she had a little over 3 years. It seems that it is a fake call.

- SonnyI've received 7 unwanted calls from the Scotia bank call centre between May 4-13. I don't answer and let my answering machine pick it up. No message is ever left. The calls are always in the evening about the same time.
The tall foreheads who run this kind of operation can't seem to get it through their thick skulls that these kind of harassing calls just turn off Scotia Bank customers.
I plan to visit my local Scotia Bank to find out who to complain to in the Scotia Bank management levels.
I think the bank has set up an Ombudsman office to deal with customer complaints. I'm going to check this out.- Caller: Scotia Bank

- AnnoyedI don't even bank with Scotiabank! I suspect they got my # from the Scene Card information.
- Juliet replies to RastaPlease inform software + modem info. I totally agree that's the best permanent solution.
TIA - Fedup WithtetelemarketersWe are all on the "supposed" do not call list. That list is not worth a fiddler's fart.
Get onto your MPP, MP's ass with constant complaints. Do it every time you
get a call. They don't really pay attention unless you are as persistent as a telemarketer.
They have to get sick and tired of hearing from you in order to get off of their overpaid [***]
and actually do something. And that is only to make you go away! ....Damn taxpayers!.- Caller: Allofthem .com

- KimI started gettng these calls too, every time at 6:08pm. Followed "scotiabanker"s advice and logged in scene.ca and saw that I was automatically set up to receive e-mails, snail mails and telemarketers. So, unsubscribed from all of those and changed my phone # to something bogus. Most people never answer 800, 888 etc calls. I wish companies wouold realize this and stop archaic telemarketing.
- Caller: Scotiabank
- Fedup WithtelemarketersComplaints to the CRTC do absolutely no good. I believe that they simply ignore them.
Get onto your MP and MPP, If you can get an answer from them. The do not call registry
is a joke. I have registered several complaints and never got a response despite requests
for a response. They just don't seem to give a damn.- Caller: Scotiabank
- NekoThese people called my 3 times today! When I see the number on my call display I just quickly pick-up and hang up.
