I am in the same situation with you guys. Twice every few days. I told them to add me 'Do Not Call List' in last week. They call me back tonight, and I argue with that telemarketer. That telemarketer asked me, 'Do you need me to call police for you?'.

These calls are very disturbing in my life

According to Bell, this is NOT Scotia bank, but scammers trying to gain information.
It is fraud. Call the police. If you don't make noise, nothing will ever happen.

Do not computer dial as you are calling a cell phone, and unless you are going to pay for air time then e-mail!

I wrote earlier about the Scotiabank telemarketing sacks of sh*t. I was receiving non-stop JUNK phone calls from Scotiabank and no amount of phone calls and e-mails could put a stop to them for a very, very long time. Eventually, an executive from Scotiabank phoned me and promised that the calls would stop. They did stop--for a while. Now, they have started again. The fact that I'm on Scotiabank's internal do-not-call list and Canada's do-not-call list means absolutely nothing to a special company like Scotiabank. You see, Scotiabank is above the law. The legislation concerning Canada's do-not-call list is simply an inconvenience to Scotiabank, so this company simply chooses to ignore the laws of Canada. Now, each and every time I receive a JUNK phone call from them, I phone the executive mentioned above and leave a detailed message for him telling him what I think of his company and its violation of Canada's laws--and I'm not polite about it. I think everyone should start phoning this man with complaints about his piece of sh*t of a company and its absolute refusal to stop harassing people with its JUNK phone calls. His name is Gladson Thomas and his phone number is 416-750-6779. Bombard him with as many phone calls as possible and let him see what it's like to be constantly harassed.

After getting a call from this number (I didn't pick up) and hearing that this may be related to Scotiabank/Scene, I went to Scene.ca, logged in to my Scene account, and found out that I had been subscribed to all sorts of offers from Scotiabank/Scene INCLUDING Telemarketing. So, if you have a Scene card and you're getting these phone calls, I suggest you log in and unsubscribe.

I'm not positive this will work, but it's my suggestion for now.

What do you do if you don't have a scene card or anything to do with scotiabank, but are receiving 3-5 calls a day???

Apparently it's in the Scene card options...need to logon and change your profile settings - comments from another source below...

Anyway, he also asked if I had a Scene card, and I do (though I didn’t get it recently). He said I was probably being contacted by them for some great offers. Uh huh. He recommended I go to the Scene website, login, and unsubscribe from any comms I didn’t want.

This number has been calling me for weeks...how irritating I have ignored every single call.  Sometimes they call me two times a day and have never left a message if it was something really important they WOULD leave a message.  I am way past annoyed.

Most of you people haven't even answered yet you "know" it's a scam? lol!

It's an umbrella number that ScotiaBank uses. I recently got a credit card upgrade and it was simply a survey about how I found the service ETC.

I think they call using this number for a variety of things. Meh.

This number has been calling every night this week about 8pm when we're putting our kid to bed.  Haven't bothered answering as we always ignore '888' numbers (if it's actually anything important, they would leave a message), but I was wondering who it was as it's quite annoying.

If it is ScotiaBank, then the only thing I can think of is that I got a 'Scene' card (free promotional movie card they offer that gets you a free movie for every 5 or 6 you see and/or money off concessions and the like - no bank account necessary) and that's probably where they got my phone number from.

Will continue to ignore it, I guess..

This number has called me 7 days in a row. Always at 7:04pm (except this morning - Saturday - they called at 11:07). I haven't picked up and they haven't left a voicemail.
