It is Scotia Bank they called I answered and I asked a couple of questions about my account.  They made changes to my account. Then I called the number on the back of my card to verify the changes and it was legit.

They call me on a daily basis, sometimes 2-3 times a day. I do not answer, and they do not leave messages.

Caller ID'ed as "Unknown Name".

Calling for an unknown person, but with my last name.

They had my correct number.

Told them that person did not live here.

They hung up.  Hopefully I never hear from them again.

The call comes they do not speak, and I am registered on DO NOT CALL LIST so they very well be taken to the task who soever it may be disturbing the peace.

No offensive, but here's a tip when you stuff like that, always remember that the person (rep) is doing their job and will call you back for that act of stupidity I gurantee you... let it go and politely tell them to remove you.

They call me all the time... but I have  ringback ( you hear music instead of the usual ring when you call me) on my phone and their system is not used to it.. so before I even pick up they hang up... it work also with all the other telemarketing numbers...

They started phoning my do-not-call number on December 18 and the frequency of their calls has been increasing but I have not answered them and they have not left a message.  Yesterday they phoned twice which is unconscionable.  I do not have any accounts with ScotiaBank.  From reading the posts here, I guess they are calling me because I signed up for a Scene card a few months ago but I did not consciously allow ScotiaBank to phone me.  I read the fine print but I didn't see anything that indicated I was allowing BNS to victimize me like this.  I logged into my Scene account a few weeks ago and changed the phone number and checked off a box that disallows telemarketers from calling me but BNS has ignored it. When they call, their name does not appear in the caller ID.  Yesterday, I phoned the number  back and got a message saying that you can talk to a person during business hours on weekdays or leave a message but I couldn't do that because their mailbox was full.

It's time to take action.  There are so many exceptions to the DNC legislation that I'm not sure if they have broken the law.  Has anyone lodged a complaint with the CRTC yet?  Maybe it's time to toughen the law.  E.g., a telemarketer should not be allowed to call a phone number more than once on any one day or more than 10 times a month.  If they have called 3 times and not spoken to anyone, they have to leave a message on the voice mail.  If anyone has any other ideas, I would like to hear from them.  It's time to start contacting our MPs.

Just got a call and got no response from the other end. Annoying.

No offense. Here's a tip for you too. They have their job but they don't have the right to call or interrupt others at home. You gotta teach them a lesson not to take this job. Do I care about the job he/she's doing? Hell NO. It's OK if they do remove the number after I told them but 99% of the time they don't. Grow up man.

I can just tell by your post that your not the empathetic type. Which in all honesty is fine. What your saying makes no sense, "You gotta teach them a lesson not to take this job" So by being a smart [***] and asking for the rep's house number is going to teach them a lesson? lol They just going to press call again.

People work to live and they do not think like you Dave (under the impression 'that is wrong calling people like this, I should quit') come on now you know that.

Is it right for them to call you at those times and interupt some good ol home cooked meals Hell No, I can under being pissed. I'm just saying do something about it!! If you woud like the DNC number let me know. Because your type that rep's love to call back. Vicious cycle I know, I know. Cheers

No message.  The phone rings, I answer the phone and there is silence.  Its driving me crazy!!

They've tried calling a few times this week. It really _IS_ Scotia Bank.

My telephone-number is listed on our social-club's account with them.
So, we do have a prior business relationship, which ENTITLES them to call me,
despite my number being listed on the DO-NOT-CALL list.

The caller was curteous, and brief.  It seems to be a marketing-effort by Scotia Bank
to contact their "business" (our club is not classed as a "personal" account) clients.

I WOULD like them to call me, at my number, if there were anything fraudulent happening with the account!

I think you have the right idea.

If you've signed up for a Scene card, your information was passed along to Scotia Bank and the automated system is phoning you, even though they may no be anyone (or anything) on the other end if you do answer it. Scotia Bank actually owns Scene so they aren't technically giving your information away, and it's apparently in the waiver that Scotia will use the information to solicit you information

They've called several times in the past few weeks. A couple days ago, I called back and got a lady on the line whom I told I'd like to be removed from the calling list. She was polite and told me I would be, but today I got two more calls from the same number. It's Scotiabank, and if it keeps up I'm closing my account there. I'm in Halifax.

They keep calling several times a week
