They said they were calling from Walmart and I was selected to recieve a 500 dollar gift card. All they needed was a credit card number to charge for the shipping of $1.95 and they would send the gift card.
It sounded like they were calling from India and when I ask for their call back number, they hung up on me.

had a call from this number today- 8888888888 looking to help me with a claim (that didn't and don't have).  they were very rude and arrogant. when asked to speak to a manager - i was told NO. when asked if i could speak to someone who could understand english - i was told NO.
no politeness or maners from them AT ALL.
i did get the chance however, to point out that my number is an ex-directory private number registered with the telephone preference service, and if they call again, i WILL seek legal prosecution, as they were breaking "the law" they hung up then...

on 00:48EST 15 November 2011 and then again on 00:47EST 15 December 2011. I have a LG Optimus V phone on Virgin Mobile.

I applied for a loan online and everyday I get a call from this number. They present themselves as ” Cash Payday Loans”. When I asked for a good number to their company, I was given the ” hangup” instead. I have actually received a couple calls that were legitimate, but several that when you ask for identifying info for the company, they hang up.

I received a call from someone wanting to do an energy audit on my house and trying to set up an appointment. I asked them for their number and they gave me the 888 number.   I did a *69 and was given this number as the actual number that called me 413-739-4333.  I called it back and a man answered but I couldn't understand the name of his company.

Have been calling non stop for the past hour. The calls come and go. I'm in Ontario Canada. Dead Air when I answer. 3rd time ringing I answered and "they" instantly hung up on me. Tried re-dial and get a recording saying the number is wrong, blah blah blah. I'm on the Do Not Call list... it's not working. Make it stop!!!!

I gotz a call from dis number 666-666-6666 and I answers and the dude he say his name is Lucifer and he told me to go buy like 100 pepperoni pizzas before tomorrow or he set the earth on fire and stuff.
So I just got paid thank goodness so I buys the pizzas and he said kool the earth is safe.

i heard that, in china, the number consisting of all 8s. so i called it, and it was Pizza Hotline! i DONT know why they would be calling ANYONE. so i dont know if this helps at all but hope it helps

I got a call purporting to be from a drug manufacturing firm today.  It was "from" 8888888888 on my caller-id.

The word "Canada" was mentioned at least once.

A return call shows that this number is for a cruise line, not a pharmaceutical firm.
