I was almost sucked in...actually gave a credit card number after the woman explained the "program" and gave me her name and contact #s. Luckily when she also wanted the expiration date I felt it was a scam and told her to call back later. I googled the # and then put a hold on my card just in case. Oddly, when she called me back it was from another #, 321-527-5462. I guess the credit card companies are selling our cell phone numbers to scam artists!

I don't use turbo tax and these people called my cell phone number.

I pressed 1 to talk to someone about lowering my interest rate b/c I knew none of my credit card companies had that number.

He asked if I had at least $3k in credit card debt.
I asked what bank they were with, the guy said "none". He said they are a loan colsolidater. I told him he called my cell phone and not to call again and put me on all their do not call lists. He hung up and and I don't know if they will comply.

i got this call today, i dont use turbo or any online service at all. and only my close friends and family have it

I do not use Turbo Tax, and have given this number to only a handful of persons, and have never ever used it on the Internet, aside from logging in to my mobile phone account online.

I have been recieving calls from this number. I also was previously getting calls from the "Auto Warranty" company who was giving me my final notice. I filed a complaint with the FCC concerning the warranty company. They informed me that this is in fact a scam to get information out of people. They have a case open, are trying to collect enough information to get these losers, and would contact me if the case goes to court. I don't think I have recieved another call about my auto warranty since. I could be wrong and it may just be by chance, but I'm going to try the same thing with this company and hopefully these calls will stop as well. When they call talk to them and try to get as much information out of them as you can. I got the woman who I talked to to say that the company's name was Service Center and that if I went online to servicecenter.com I could see their site. That was bogus. The site exists, but it's junk. When I asked the woman for her name, she hung up. They will hang up on you whenever they get a chance, so like I said, get as much out of them as you can. Where they are, their name, the name of the company and all that. Good luck to all with these scammers.

Just filed on the 15th via turbotax too.

Did not answer phone call but have received calls from this number prior to today.

Today is 4/20/2009 its 6:23 p.m. and I just received a call to my home number and it said service announcement on my caller I.d so I deccided not to answer as soon as my answer machine came on they hung up.

I tried calling this number. It is not in service. Typical online scam artists.

I used Turbo Tax and this is the 1st time I've received a call from them. Most likely Turbo Tax or it's affiliates are selling our contact info.

Prerecorded message offering to lower my credit card payments.  They called my office number which we've only had for about 3 weeks.  I'm wondering if Verizon isn't selling newly activated phone numbers.

Anyway, so as instructed I pressed "3" to stop receiving calls.

At least once a day I'm pressing some number to stop telemarketers from calling me.  I added our number to the national do-not-call list, but I gather it takes a while to propagate to the far corners of the telemarketing universe.

Yep, I got a "lowering my interest rate" call just now. It gave options: press 1 to continue, press 2 to discontinue. I hesitated for a couple of seconds and it hung up.
