they call, don't leave a message....I'm tired of people calling and don't answer you or leave a message, that's why I won't/don't answer my phone from numbers I don't know/recognize....quit calling.

Maybe you can block the number on your moms phone. It's annoying enough but to to to tire the elderly, that's just wrong!

Please don't protect them, because they cross a line routinely. They woke my wife up tonight by calling at 9:50 p.m. When told to put me on a Do Not Call list, the person I spoke to started with the BS about them not having to abide by the list because they are a survey company. If they had ANY ethics, they would have an internal do not call list and stop calling people. Also, as has been evidenced by the numerous people on this site, they call incessantly, to a level tantamount with harassment. The next time they call, I will make them regret it. Let's see how much they like their jobs when I start yelling. It's reached a sickening level of calling, automated numbers or not, and it's uncalled for.

Sarbourough - never leaves a message and I never answer. I did recently find out though...if you have a Panasonic remote phone, you can actually set any numbers up to be blocked. When they call it rings only once and then the call is blocked and ends. My whole address book is being used up by blocked calls now - :)

This is a transcript of the message they left: "Hi, I'm calling from Scarbororough Research and we're doing a short survey about radio listening, TV viewing and (mumble) reading for (mumble) purposes. We are not selling anything. For more information about this very important survey, please call our toll free number, 800 753 6043. Thank you very much."

After reading the other comments on here, I've created a new contact on my phone for them and it's called SPAM. Aha, and here's what google maps and the web says about them:

After 3 weeks of constant calling, sometimes leaving a message that they were a survey company, yesterday I received a letter from them with a brand new crisp dollar bill in as an incentive to call them.  I will tear the bill up.  Their letter states they are conducting a survey regarding radio, newspaper reading and TV listening.  I wish they would just stop......

I am also on the DNC list.  I am reporting these jerks. When I mentioned it was 9:30 they wanted me to participate anyway.

if you call the toll free number for Nielson (the TV rating company that uses the survey info) 855-807-2272 and select the phone option to talk to someone about the survey I was able to get them to remove my elderly mother from their database.

These slimers have called me every day for two weeks... despite my asking them to stop.  It is harrassment!  [***].

THEY KING ON CALLING TWO ,THREE TIMES A DAY

This caller is relentless and calls sometimes twice in one day.   I am on the Do Not Call List and it is extremely aggravating

I am constantly being bothered by these people all times of the day

They left a message on my answering machine saying they would call back. They did, they are part of the Neilson ratings and they Pay you $1.00 to do the survey. You do have to give them your name, age, and your mailing address of course. As long as they didnt ask for my social or DOB I'm ok with that. I have done this survey before. It takes about 10 minutes. Not a big deal to me. If you shut up and just answer yes or no the survey goes fast. Obviously I have nothing better to do so I didnt mind. Its people like me that contribute to Which is most popular Television stations, Music stations, and News Papers. The gentleman that gave me the survey was very polite. So if you just answer the phone, take the survey, They will Leave you alone!

I don't care what excuse they use or try to convince us that calling via the telephone is their best means of reaching the consumer date base. Nonsense. CALLING PEOPLE FOR SURVEYS, OR ANY OTHER REASON except personal calls to family or friends, is harassment. I don't answer calls from blocked, unavailable, 800# or those I don't recognize. I don't care what they're selling or what their intent is. If they've left a message I delete it. It's simple, annoyance free and gives me piece of mind.
