999-999-9999 called today and was blocked by our Digitone call blocker. (We block every area code 9#########, 8##... 0##.) We didn't answer it; it was blocked. Someone we know who wants to talk to us would call back (rarely the case), so this works great. To their credit they called at 9:45 in the morning; we've been getting a few a month at 11:00 PM... often without a number to report. The Digitone blocks them also. About the only ones that are blocked and shouldn't be are people who, for some unknown reason, block their home phone number. We have been on state and federal do-not-call lists for years… and reregister regularly, so nearly any call that is blocked is a scam; 999-999-999 is obviously a scam. If a legitimate business calls again after being asked to stop they are subject to a fine of $16,000.00

I think this might be one of those numbers which sends automated texts to random numbers, then if you reply to it, it knows the number is linked to a phone and so continues to ring/text it.

Your Moms Got One Hell Of A Fine [***] replies to titaniclover
You cant call or text it.

    999-999-9999 numbers are either:

    1. Spoofcard.com or similar.
    2. Telemarketer.
    3. A company or collection agency (bockbuster hasbeen reported to call from a 999 number to inform people of delinquent acount balances).

They are almost always calls that are routed over the internet, thus these calls dont come from a source that has a number you can dial to reach, and are for the most part untraceable. It is possible for it to be a regular person (trying to mess with you or whatever) through services such as spoofcard and similar apps and web pages. If you aren't specifically expecting a call from a 999 number, you can safely ignore it.

You said you didnt have a blackberry like not having one is a bad thing. They are a complete joke. The only thing they had was the [***] "wealthy corprate buidness" image it. had attached to it. Drug dealers dont even think blackberrys are cool anymore. They moved on to iphones, and are now just starting to realize android is the correct mobile platform. Can you imagine blackberrys app store? I bet its a horror show of a bad joke.
