999-999-9999

I have received about a half a dozen of these calls over the past week at different times of the day and evening. I have not been available to pick up except for once and when I saw no id, I let it go to voice mail. They have never left a message so I suspect political war dialing.

I wish I had reported all of the calls instead of just the last one to the Do Not Call Registry.

Even if this is a legitimate business, masking their identification like this seems unethical and probably should be illegal. I think we should have the right to know what businesses are calling us to root out Telephone Consumer Protection Act violators.

(Privacy for individual citizens is a different matter.)

Got a call from this number; didn't pick up; figured stupid.
Then got a call soon after from a 555-123-4567; didn't pick that up either; usually these calls are from some indian type accent asking for someone named taylor. If you say taylor is not there they go into their speel. Don't pick up anymore and they don't leave message.

I get a recording asking if I'm behind on my mortgage payment...ummm I DON'T own a home!!
When I call it back the operator answers with a wrong number recording.
I need this to stop!

RECEIVED CALL FROM NUMBER 999-999-9999 ANS MACHINE PICKED UP THEY CALL ENDED

I recieved 2 calls today at 5:48p and 7:31p from this number. These came in on my cell phone. I missed the first call and didn't answer the second. They didn't leave a message at all.

I keep getting these calls from 999-999-9999.  I want them to end.........(HELP)

I just got a call from this number, picked up said hello and noone was there but it sounded like it was connected. 430pm

First call at 3:01. When answered, no one on the line. Second call at 5:16. I didn't answer but let answering machine pickup.  Message was Verizon promoting Hi Speed Internet Service at 42.99 at 877-958-3278.  If you want on Do Not Call list call 410-910-0607.  I will no longer answer when this number comes up.

for the past 3 nights I have received calls from a private number between the hours of 2:45AM and 3:45AM. what human stays up that late every night?? it has to be computer generated. but when I picked up 2 of these calls and said hello? it sounded like there was someone on the other end, just breathing, not saying anything. wtf. when I looked on my phone bill, it says "9999999999"

the phone companies do have the ability to stop these calls. they just have to program their systems to reconize all 999 999 9999 calls as incorrectly dialed number.  did you ever make a call and get the message "this call can not be completed as dialed. please check the number and try again"? that is totally in their ability to do.  enough people have to press them to do so. perhaps getting enough verizon, att, or whatever, customers to state they will refuse payment if they do not act on this.  it would have to be enough to make a difference to them, or you risk having your service cut off. the only other way is to seek congressional intervention, if they aren't to busy doing nothing else, which seems the case of late.

Just got a call from this number. came up unknown name 999-999-9999. Thought it was kinda creepy since I have never seen this kind of number before. Didn't answer it, let answering machine get it. nothing. No message.

About 9:30, on my cell I got a call from 999-999-9999.  I answer because of a family member in the hospital and no one was on the other end.

This number has been calling for days, 6-7 times a day, and I finally just got aggravated and picked up since they are obviously against leaving a message.  It was someone who sounded like she had about three brain cells left trying to get me to vote for some guy named Tim Barnes, I've never heard of him, in the senate election.  She didn't give a name, didn't identify herself at all and she really did sound very stupid.  I wrote his name down because I want to remember this is how he plans to campaign.  It's very shady and I know the 999-999-9999 number is used by a variety of scams callers and I certainly don't want to put my support behind a politician that's starting out like this.

I saw this number on my cell phone caller id and did not pick up. If its a foreign country will I be charged?

I did get this number on my cell phone 86 times in two week.What can I dod to stop it from calling to my cell?

You can say I'm crazy, but I think there is something really serious about this number, something that can't be explained away by saying it's a telemarketer or bill collector. Here's what happened to me:
My birthday is 8-07-69. Last year on the night before my birthday, I was lying in bed thinking about my grandma{who has passed away}. I was wondering if she would be thinking about me on my birthday, and if she could send me some kind of message. I was woke up in the morning by a phone call, when I answered no one was there. The caller ID read:

time of call-8:07am
So today, one year later, I wake up at 7:30am, waiting for another phone call to come, it never did.
But no one can tell me that phone call didn't mean anything. I was thinking about the number all day today, so I got on-line and typed it into search.
Wow...so many different stories about the same number, some of them really creepy. So here I am, writing my little "testimonial". Last year at 8:07am was the first time I ever recieved a call from that number, and I haven't recieved one since. Go figure.

I wish they would stop calling, it's aggravating
