I have a friend in South Africa who is currently working in Romania and sometimes when he calls me from his mobile I see 00011976000 as the ID on my mobile. I answer and all is fine, this also happened a few times whilst he was in South Africa.

A call from this weird number woke me up. Not happy Jan! Anyhow I didn't answer, and hopefully they will never ring back.

I got a call just now in Australia from this number. I didn't answer it because the number was unknown to me. I suspected that it was a scam of some sort.

I received a call from  this number at 5:30am, i think they called me without realising... no one spoke to me but i could here a conversation happening in the background they were talking about 'recruiting people at universities' and how he 'washed all his shirts last night' very strange. i hung up then they called back again with no one present on the other end just background noise. i receive calls from someone in the Australian military and i had come to the conclusion that it was someone form the military until i found this website...

i got this call after being in trouble with the police. our number to call the police is 000. so i thought it was then but luckily enough for me my battery died

looks like im not the only one getting this number.

Well l keep getting these calls between 2am to 4am, l dont answer the phone, l did check message in the morning l just got a hello message so l will just delete there number.

I've been receiving these calls now for 24 hours!!  I got them in the evening and also 3am in the morning.
They have also called from a private number and 01197 6000.
I'm assuming it's someone who is conducting some sort of scam.
Very frustrated.  Not sure where else I can report it.

I received a call from this number at 01:30 which woke up my household. By the time I had reached the phone the call had disconnected. I would certainly like to know who is responsible for these calls so I can report them to the telephone authority and the police.

Hi, it's me again. I have just read some of the other comments and this has cleared something up for me. I have never made overseas sms calls from my mobile until last week. I made 2 sms calls to China. Now I'm getting these odd calls from the above number. Does that give anyone a clue?

i recieved two calls from 00011976000 i didnt get the chance to answer it but i remember the same number used to prank me more then 8months ago and straight after the two calls i got a private number and it also hang up straight away before i have the chance to answer...so who knows

called at 1.15am this morning, over and over again, i was saying hello and could hear people speaking in another language but they didnt seem to hear me but as soon as i hung uo they would call again. this number would either appear or a private number.

they called at 12.30am,
i answered didn't understand, hung up and put the phone on silent, woke up this morning to 6 missed calls.

I just received a call from this number - I applied for a job on Get a Freelancer.com - is anyone else involved with this site ?

this number called my phone, it was oddly straight after i received another prank from a private number.

jeez, just got a missed cal from this no as well,i just googled the no and saw al of these comments, obviously this is a big SCAM!  tried to call back and it doesn't connect! wats dat tell ya....

In Australia, got a call from this number and I missed it.
After seeing the above posts, I am glad I missed it! DODGY!

2 calls in 2 days from this number. They don't say anything. I'm in Australia.
