got a call today - didnt answer coz number looked dodge.

Received a cal from 00011976000 - sounded lik an Indian !    Wanted me to go on to my computer as he wanted to help as it could be infected and could crash!!!!! "I didn't do it just hung up"

It's generally a failed international call.... not sinister!

this is not desirable - invasion of privacy reallly.

Got a call from this number to my mobile and an Indian or Asian sounding person asked if I was Mrs (Surname) and proceeded to tell me that they were not going to sell me anything but just wanted 30 seconds of my time.  I hung up as I was a bit suspicious that it was a scam.

Just got a called on my phone from number 0011976000 (not three zero's in the front but two), let it go to answering machine and they hung up. Got on here and searched to find all these comments... strange. Probably an international scam.

Answered this number (we have had a lot of telemarketing calls lately & I was gonna tell them to "go away") - said hello a couple of times, no reply, then the line disconnected.

Yep, got one just now! Cut out with no answer.

I got one as well just now and left them on hold then they hung up after 30 seconds.

been getting a call from this number,
have hade 5 calls over 3 month,
they tell me to go on my computer and change something
that say there from microsoft,
and my computer keeps on sending masages to them

ha got the call this morning. found my number in the business directory (white pages). going on and on about how im valued telstra customer and something about free line rental, problem is we with optus. say your not interested they dont stop talking.

eventually said. we are moving overseas in a week we dont use this number now. they end the cal strait, try that :)

It seems to be some idiot from a computer company trying to talk to my IT manager about solutions - this guy hangs up every time I try to put him off - he has tried 3 days in a row.  I just asked him to remove our number from his listing, if they call back again I'll ask to be put through to a manager.

I just received a call from this number 00011976000. But have been getting blocked calls that hang up after a couple of seconds.  I'm going to call my phone company again about it and see what they say.

Just recieved a call from this number on work phone - answered with my polite welcome spiel and they hung up after i finished. Could hear back ground noise but nothing to identify them. Probably realised that i wan't going to be an easy target if i had a company tone rather than a little old lady... ha rude con artists :)

Once a week get a call from this number never answer

Thought this number was strange looking - answered the phone and they hung up on me. Thought i would report this after reading the other messages.

called eight times between 0930-1000am. phone was on silent (it's one I hardly use), plus looked like a scam number so I ignored.

I have had calls from this number twice in the past week - tonight at 9.00pm.  Last week I abused the Indian sounding guy - and told him to get a life.   Tonight he asked me to go and turn my computer on - that he was working for Microsoft and that he had been advised my computer was being hacked into on a regular basis.   I asked him was he working in a call centre - what was his name - and where was he calling from.   He told me Sydney Australia and his name was Michael and he mumbled some 02 number (sounded a Sydney number).   I asked him how he knew I had a computer - and he said the phone number (my phone number) told him that I owned a computer and that it was being hacked.  I was not quick enough to ask him what time it was in Sydney - I told him to leave me alone - get a life and stop hassling and scamming people... I hung up on him and did a check and the 00011976000 number came up.    These people need castrating..... sick of them
