yeah got a call from this number at 1347hrs today too
didnt recognise number, didnt pick up - no message left

cant think of anyone who'd be calling from overseas, or at least calling my mobile

I got a call from this number just now.  When I answered, it was a recording advising that I had won a cruise and to dial "1" for further information.  I simply put the phone down hoping that I might be able to keep the caller engaged for a short time.

As I answered the phone these was silence, a dial tone and then an automated femal voice stating "good bye". In in Australia

Got a call from this number today saying they were from a bank

I have had numerous calls from this number and Optus even changed my home Phone number free of charge . ( this was a new connection) But they followed me. A very rude woman who says she is from telstra and I'm a good customer and I am entitled to have my ph bill reduced. I told her don't call and she says aggressively I cant do that so guess who is getting a whistle to blow down the line for next time they call!

Im from Sydney with Vodafone. This number has called me a lot over the last few months, they just stay on the line and dont say anything. Sometimes I hear people talking in the background and sometimes its silent. I run my own business so abit hard to just change my number. After seeing all these comments about this same number I will be just ignoring these from now.

Just had a legitimate call from Visa (the credit card company) and they used this number.

Just received a call from 0011976000 and had a woman (foreign) ask if she was speaking to Mrs ******** (me) to which I replied yes.  She preceeded to tell me that she was from the investigations department of the National Australia Bank.  I told her we have nothing to do with the NAB and not to call our number again.  I'm assuming the call I received was related to a scam.

It was an automated recording claiming to be from Virgin Australia and that you have won 999 credit points.  It asks you to press 1 to find out more information but there is no other option.  I hung up

Keep getting this call few time it was private no people asking me bout have u been in car accident lately yeh i dont have car so no  i always hang up one time i swearing at them dont call me again fell on deaf ears they call again

have u been in car or family member in car accidentally lately!!!! i said look where did u get my no..... then suddenly they hang up it was a woman i am going to call optus now tell them to ban it do something

i got same fone call foriegn woman but she asking me has anyone in ur family been in car accident lately i told her no how did u get my no she hanged up

Same [***] spam scam

Got two calls from this number after 12am, they said hello and the started jibbersish

I have been getting calls from this number for about a month.  I usually let the machine get it but today I picked it up.  The lady said she was from NAB cards & asked if I had made a transaction with a person in New Zealand for $700.  I asked her for the card number & after a pause she said it started with 5313 which all credit cards do.  I told her I was going to report her as it was a scam then hung up.  I rang NAB & they said they would ask me certain details to identify me first & it definitely wasn't them calling me.  It's a scam so don't fall for it.

I received a call from this number and the female person (possibly from the sub-continent) claimed to be calling about my Telstra internet connection. Didn't get any further as I hung up after I told the caller that I believed her phone call was a scam.

Just received this call, an automated voice says that I have been selected to receive free flight from Qantas worth $900, press 1 to proceed and I hung up.

Some one was calling me this morning from number 0011976000. I did not answer, but worried. Who it may be?

I just got a cold call and an Indian sounding lady claimed to be from Telstra and she was ringing me to help me from Melbourne Victoria as they were watching my computer and saw that I was getting a number of error messages that were also affecting their servers!!  I said I had no computer connection with Telstra and that I had received a number of similar calls in last few weeks and have not seen any error messages or virus attacks as she purported.  She was adamant that she was trying to help me and I hung up.

Guys, this number is shown when someone on a mobile phone overseas is trying to reach you. Don't be afraid to pick up. Overseas mobile phone don't always display their numbers as they can be on a black list (a service that hide the number for international mobiles). Nothing to be afraid of. Maybe just a friend from overseas or just a wrong number.
