I have received numerous calls from the  number 0011976000 claiming to be from Microsoft Company.
Please ignore all from this number scammer at work. As Microsoft Company do not call customer only if prior appointment times have been arranged. HANG UP ON CALL, do not give them any information.

This seems to be a 'default' caller ID for calls from overseas coming into Australia. It doesn't matter who calls me from overseas, or where they are, this number comes up. From all the comments I can see here, it doesn't matter which telco you are with either. My telco has no idea why this happens and couldn't offer any help.

I have had this number calling my mum for a while now and whenever the call was answered it dropped out. I answered it today and it was a guy claiming to be from the technical department of Telstra. He said he was ringing to inform me that the internet service to our computers would be ceasing in two months. I told him all of our services are with Optus to which he said that Telstra does all the service in Australia. I told him not to call again and that if his number ever came up on phone again it would be harrassment. The call conveniently dropped out soon after.
I spoke to Telstra and they know nothing of this.

If you don;t pick up the phone, their automated dialer calls each 2-3 hours till you do..WHEN  they speak coherently, they offer great wealth ,etc.,  ETC.  If you pick up. and keep silent,, they hang up and their automation stops bothering you till its next cycle.  It is your decision what to do with your own phone. These calls are from overseas, and  cannot  be stopped by our systems.

Calls at odd times, hung up and was called back by very indignant man! He's upset!!!!!! Just called again now as I was sleeping, said I'd asked them to call back, unlikely!!!! Most intrusive. Apparently, my computer is at risk, again, unlikely!!!!

I got 3 calls from this number and it was extremely annoying.
I asked them where are you from? and they hung up.
Very suspicious.

We've had two calls today 3hrs apart.We don't answer the phone anymore.!!!!

we have had numerous calls from this number for about a week now... generally 4 - 5 times during the day and one again at 3.35 am .... needless to say... not happy... am now not answering landline ...all my fam and friends know my other number anyways...

This is creeping me out. It's a guy speaking English but has an accent like Indian. He has left messages on my answer machine in his language. I picked up today, I asked who is it. And he asked me what my name was. I told him he had the wrong number and nit to call again. I hung up. And he's called me back 2 more times. I'm scared. In SA adelaide. And with optus too. WTF

just recieve this number i answered hello hello nothing then hear them hanging up Grr i  thought it was oversea i cause 0011 was expecting a call from family member then nothing

Got a call from the same number. Claiming to be from microsoft (windows) and saying there were viruses in the computer. I said, Yeah right. I use malwarebytes and have no viruses (I am very alert about what processes are running in the background.) Spoke with an Indian accent/Pakistania accent.

The chinese are no match for the Muslims, if you look at North-West China (Xinjiang Province) it used to be called Eastern Turkistan with 10 million Turkic Uighur muslims only, they had 2 wars against those asian Turks and lost, it wasn't until the Russians provided an Army and weopons with British funding, that they occupied the oil rich country in the 3rd attempt. The muslims are quite strong over there and china fears that if communism were to collapse, those Turks, and Tibettans next door will gain independance. Xinjiang means "New Colony". If the Uighur Turks gain independance there goes the oil, the backbone of china's economy, so the chinese do a population mix in that area to keep it under control.

umm well i got same call but from indian man saying was i in car accident  trying sell me insurance quick way to do it block it

Do not know who rang me.

this number called me regarding accident insurance. Said they got the number from accident report and she was calling to see if I wanted to claim. She hung up on me when I questioned who she was and where she got the number.

dont reply. Foreign sounding person on the other end asking if we had had a car accident recently. She hung up when I questioned her.

Do not spend 5 seconds. Do not let them start. Say NO! Then hang up.

Got a call from this number today when I answered a recorded female voice said " you are the only person left in Australia.... "  and hanged up!   Funny .. All those cars in the road I see must be driven by Kangaroos ... heee, heee
