This number called today (27/04/2012). Said they were from 'Windows Support' and that they were aware that someone had been trying to hack into my computer - and that my current protection (Norton 360) would not detect it. I suspected that this was some sort of scam - but played along for a while.
The Asian sounding person then proceeded to give me instructions on how to check these problems - and started to guide me through a series of key presses. As soon as we were approaching critical information, I cut them off. Subsequently, they continued to try to contact me - and I have now set my phone to not 'ban' the number.
I would suggest that anyone who sees this number on their phone immediately cuts it off - and reports it. If you do speak to someone and they try to get you to do something - DON'T FOLLOW THEIR INSTRUCTIONS!

an indian woman told me that my computer had downloaded some files that could cause it to breakdown at any time ( must have been microsoft or Autocad LOL ).

So I played alaon, and she asked me to wau=it while i was passed to a technician.

I'm sure I would have been asked for my username & password next..........

Are people really that dumb. ?

Anytime they call , answer, play along, and they will pay for an expensive international call.
but never give anyone who calls you any true information.

My own bank called me, and asked me to prove who I am, I told them I had no way of knowing that they were who they said, and they could be conning me, they said " we wouldnt do that " unbeleiveable, dont they think the bad guys would say that too ? DUUUHH!

Like many others, I frequently get calls from this number which are neither solicited or wanted, so what`s the point of registering with the TPS. A toothless tiger I`m afraid

Got a call from this number this morning on my (Dutch) land line. I was in the shower and my partner answered. A woman with an Indian accent asked for me by name, claimed to be calling regarding computer maintenance and when told I was not available said she would phone back in an hour. Maybe I can wind her up in the unlikely event that she calls back or, there again, maybe I just won't bother. Why do they go to all this effort - are there really so many gullible people around?
