    I am registered with TPC but this number still keeps calling me. As I don't use my Landline phone much I just switched it to silent and removed my answering machine function , anyone wanting to contact me can do  so via  e mail or my mobile so it's no inconvenience.

    You're having a laugh if you think the Telephone Preference Service are going to stop cowboys calling - only those who abide by the rules will follow the guidelines, people like this don't play by the rules.

    I got a call from this number today, almost a year since the last post so obviously nothing has changed.

    Ofcom will be extremely limited with what they can do because it's an international freephone number so this company is not calling from within the UK. Besides it would take them 5 minutes to set up again with a different name and phone number.

    Anyone that has been scammed needs to do a chargeback - contact your card issuer.

    We keep getting this number calling us, but we dont have sky at our house! perhaps the people who had the number before us do/did, as we are receiving 4-5 calls a day regarding debts for the people who had the telephone number before us, I try to explain that the address and telephone number dont match! dont debt collectots get it that a telephone number gets re-allocated to a new customer? the address they have doesnt match ours!

    with regards to this number....everytime i answer its just background noise, talking etc.

    They are firm call "inkfish" who are owned buy Domestic and General. they are based in brighton and I used to work for them.

    The idea is to sell you a warrenty on the sky equipment as you own it. they will call you after a few week, then after ten months, then on avery annaversary untill the fifth one. the product is not worth anything. all you do if the stuff breaks is threat to cancell your account qnd sky will fix/replace it free of charge.

    Sky sell the thousands of names and numbers to Inkfish and as the sky contact says they can give your details to third parties who can call you the TPS is useless.

    Ask for call centre manager, record the call, and ask to speak to: compliance or complaints department- or- "whoever deals with your companies data and recordings control" EVERY call is kept for seven years by law- the companies must put you intouch with this department and has 14 days to supply a transcript and audio recordings of every call to and from you! This is the law- you can also demand to be removed- however they can't do that unless you pass security- name address and date of birth- no bank or other details needed- these details are passed on by sky

    Here's a thought - if you have the time and don't mind your phone line being tied up for a while - when they ask to speak to Mr X ask them to hold on while you transfer them. Don't hang up, just leave your phone down, say near a TV or Radio that is on, and see how long they are prepared to hold before they hang up. Remember, they are paying for the call - if everyone did this think how much that would cost them. "Vengeance is a dish best served cold" -

    I know it's "sky protect" scanners and I can't wait for them to phone again! Hahaha

    I spoke to them as well, they are not part of Sky and is some sort of insurance for your Sky equipment- it worked out more expensive than actually just paying for a new Sky box and the woman on the call seemed quite confused when I explained to her how ridiculous that was. Obviously not the brightest of sparks. Just don't answer the calls, they go away eventually.
