No idea who this is any help

I had exactly the same today - I wasn't going to press just to get sucked into a reverse charge scam

It's from Lookers or if from N.Ireland Charles Hurst car group. I got my car serviced yesterday with them and you get a text from them telling you that an automated call will follow to rate the quality of the service and customer care. Nothing to worry about

I as called by 01189049938 and now the number is not regonised??

Received a call tonight at 7pm, answered to an automated message saying I had a call waiting from McRae and dick and to press any key to continue. I hung up

Just missed a call from this number as I was driving. I see a lot of previous comments seem to be from car servicing groups. Even though I don't know this call was from a car dealership, it seems a coincidence that I had my car serviced today then get a call from this number.

Just had call from this number they left a recorded message from M&S that a delivery to store will be delayed by 48 hours obviously a wide range of companies use this number crazy

I've had this call today as well, "press any key to connect"

As Angela has said above, I do have an outstanding M&S order waiting which has been delayed today, but they email about that.

I didn't press through to find out though.

Bizarre!

Had automated voice saying M&S parcel delayed , press 1 to acknowledge, 2 to hear again. Parcel had just arrived!

I picked up phone half way through message and didn't hear who reputedly from. Saying delivery I was expecting had been delayed and I would get refunded delivery charge. I was/am expecting a delivery from M&S today so noting the comment earlier this could be a legitimate if annoying call.I had a text from M&S earlier today advising of delivery so why not do same if delayed? Like others I dialled number and told incorrect

My son's school use this number for updates etc, it is an automated service that leaves a msg.

answered a call from this number which said  ; You have a call waiting press any button to retreive.  I pressed to cut off but it still gave me the message. The message said  your order will be delayed for 48 hours ?.....

I had the same call asking me to press any number to connect and I don't have a car and never heard of Arnold clark!!

Answerphone took this call today.
Wessex Water ( Recorded Message) advising of burst water pipe in our area.
Seems that this number used by various companies for recorded message

Not quite sure! After reading the above comments- I only bought my car last May so haven't had it serviced, I didn't buy it from Arnold Clarkes, I haven't got any kids so it won't be their school phoning, and I'm not based in Glasgow or Wessex!

As anyone monitoring inbound  calls from this number can see it's being (mis) used by many different companies. The reason is this. This number is used by a standard use browser-based piece of software used on short term rental from its USA based publisher. The target numbers are automatically called and abstracted from local company software renters who might be genuine, or then again, might not. This browser based CRM is getting more common. Best ignored but it is reasonable to assume divulging personal phone numbers could be a breach of privacy (hence harrasment) or the Data Protection Act. (DPA breach) . Given that the Banking industry and their sinister fellow travellers have form with all of the above, I'm getting used to it . Set phone to reject where poss.

i received a cold call from 01189049938 which I did not ask for it is illegal

I am getting continuously missed calls from the is number  01189049938 , when I tried to redial the number getting message number incorrect.
