Just had a call from this number, left a voicemail and it was an automated service asking me to complete a survey about a recent correspondence I had with Thames Water.

Sounds like its just a generic number that loads of people can use to send out calls for user surveys etc, annoying though I hate numbers I don't know so never answer them!

this is a pain ,rang me three times in an hour needs blocking,

I received a courtesy call from Peoples Cars (Ford). Can only presume his is from a call centre paid to do this.

Had two missed calls off this number last night after 7pm but didn't answer. Got a text today from Lookers saying my car is due a service and to reply back YES for someone to call me to book in... the only time my car went to Lookers was Sep 2010 after I crashed it for the insurance assessor to see the damage, who declared it a write-off!?

Ditto for me.

Only sensible thing to do with such a call is cut it off.  No legitimate business or education establishment should be using these types of services. If they are they should be aware that most people will just reject the call.

This is a automated service line. It is used by multiple companies and calls you to leave a generated message. It is an outgoing service only so calls to this number are blocked.
This one for me was on behalf of Vauxhall's after some work to my car - actually left me a local number to call if I wanted to make any negative about  the work carried out etc..... would rather they left me alone.

I got a call, it left voicemail telling me on behalf of DAYS Haverfordwest that my Peugeot's MOT is coming up for renewal and to call their service team. Quite believable as the car came from there last Oct '11.

I have had 17 missed calls from this number and finally yesterday they left an automated voice mail, it was from the quit smoking line and they are going to call  me back. I have added them to my reject list on my phone but some how the calls still keep coming through.

I have found out who this number belongs to. It is Lookers Garage service booking line. Its an automated line, I am trying to contact them to tell them the number dont work.

It generally is car related... not so much sales, more repair. If you are reading this you probably got this number today (like me), ask yourself, did you get you car repaired or serviced today... the answer for me was yes.

I don't think they are after your cash (holey-moley!) more you review or rating on the service you got. I never actually answer it, but i found that if you leave it to go to answering machine, it will leave an automated message explaining.

Hmm 17 missed calls since 6pm today.....puzzled if it is car related as we have a motability lease and never had anything like this in the many years of ownership

just got a call from this number which was an automated call from groupcall (I think this is what it said) sayin they have an important call regarding my child. Then an inaudible noise followed, then I was prompted to press omething to listen to the message again.... Guess what, I don't have a child, so this is SCAM.

Recorded message telling me I had a call waiting and to press any key. Like most people, I have heard of so many scams where you end up connected to a premium line and receive horrendous bills so I hung up. But - I have had two visits from British Gas Home Emergency service this past week, each of which were followed by an automated call for a customer satisfaction survey, but not from this number.

Fed up now with this company calling,sometimes it's 12 times a day. Tried Virgin Media, they sent out new number..no luck.Tried registering with TPS no luck, then tried ICO still no luck , they are driving me mad. Virgin said they do not a have call barring facility and my Blackberry won't do it either. Something needs to be done about this company ....Lookers i believe they are linked to a toyota garage now as they seem to have been doing it for quite a few years. Whats the point of registering with these companies if they won't help stop these calls.

People who bother to look this up are obviously upset by it, so they are not going to 'lighten up' you idiot.
I'm currently ill off work trying to get over an opperation & these idiots keep ringing and waking me up.
I have just rung Groupcall who deny they operate on 01189-049938 ( I think they are lieing)
We have always not answered any recorded messages as all too often they are a scam, this should be illegal plain & simple. I'm in the TPS, they cant prevent the calls as they are not direct marketing

Several companies use this automated service to inform you about services, such as car servicing, appointments, etc. One of these companies is Lookers (Honda car dealership) at Bexelyheath.

Recently put message up about this number,regardless of all my attempts to stop them pestering me (up to 10 times a day ) they are still doing it. For some unusual reason i answered the last one and it came up as a recorded message from my sons school.......now how did they do that ???? . I have not got my phone number on this laptop anywhere, I have used a different one where I have needed to so the only option is that my phone has been hacked into ,so i would like to warn anyone who is having this problem to be careful  just incase they manage to get any details from your phone. I hope this is not the case but it is beginning to look like I might  be right.
