this number has called and called and better called me!!! And like others on this page,when i called back, 'THIS NUMBER IS UNAVAILABLE'.......So when i read some of the messages above, i knew it definately could not be arnold clark as i have and never have had any dealings with them.  Then the panic set in regarding the GROUPCALL....i foned the school this morning and asked if my son attended, which he had. And it WAS indeed the GROUPCALL that was sent to me reminding that pupils going on a camping trip next year, the next installment has to be in for friday.
A NOTE HOME OR PERSONAL CALL FROM THE SECRETARIAL STAFF WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE SUFFICE!....

guess this number is used by a few, put a tick next to arnold clarke for mine. van was in today and they just wanted to know how things went.

This number called couple of times today.  One second time I waited for silence to end and then a voice said "this is a conference call..."  at that point I hung up.  Didn't want to get sucked into this but certainly don't expect to get conference calls on my number.

Never had this number call me before but have had it twice this evening- both missed!! Im guessing its Arnold Clark because the car was there today and I gave them my mobile number. Looks like a few companies use this service. Nothing to worry about though!! Phew!!!

I had this call today and a message left. It was from my daughters high school, it is a group call service advising of any problems arising in school.

this number called me 12 times yesterday and has phoned me 4 times already today and its only 10 am the first call was at 4.15am and the second was at 6am how can i stop them calling ?

Although I'm very suspicious of these 'Press any Button to Connect' calls this one does seem to be legitimate. Today's call was from my son's school cancelling an event tonight.

Now you might well ask why the school uses such a service but that is a separate issue.

i had this phone number calling me twice did not answer then i did to find in horror that i dump trade waste and had to pay £149 to the enviroment to register with them or i will get a fine now all my trade waste is collected and got rid of with biffa who deal with so not a very nice phone call

Yes, probably ARNOLD CLARK hiding behind a number one can't call back. My missus got her car 'done' today so suspect it was them. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognise so this one now has the id 'don't answer' on my phone. This site is great.

Had a call from this number on a business line at 19:10 on a Bank Holiday, but happened to be near 'phone so answered but hung up when I heard the "You have a call waiting, press 5" message.  From this site now realise it was probably the Arnold Clark survey as I had some repairs done there a few days before and gave the mumber as a contact.  However I do think they should better manage their contact methods and timings.

This number just called me and told me 'you have a call waiting, please press any key to connect'.  One person has said its from groupcall representing your child's school.  However I don't have any children so it can't be that. Likewise I have no idea who Arnold Clarke car servicing is.  Clearly an annoying spam call.

It is quite clear that this number belongs to a communication company called Voice Broadcast.

Their service allows any business to call chosen customers with details relating to their existing business relationship.

1. They are not spam calls
2. They ultimately orientate from a company you have dealings with

There is nothing suspicious about it.  I have used them for calling customers to let them know that their order has been shipped, controlled from the same interface that ships the goods with the courier and sends the customer an email.

Quite an ingenius service if you have a business and don't have hundreds of phone operators!

Just had a call from this number 5 minutes ago and it left an automated voicemail. It turns out it is Arnold Clark customer care calling to see what the service was like after I had my car in their garage. The message left a totally different number to call back on.

This number just called me (in the middle of dinner) and told me 'you have a call waiting, please press any key to connect. I hung up. I did have my car serviced today by Arnold Clark.

Had a call from this number tonight Saturday 19:05 ...I listened to the message after they had rang off and it was an automated message from Arnold Clarkes asking if the work done on my wifes car was ok.

I got a call from this number tonight and it was the automated message telling me that I had a call waiting - press any key to connect.  I hung up.  My car was in Arnold Clark's yesterday so maybe that's what it is.  Not impressed.  I hate companies that do this

I get some idiot message! Just dont take the call. Spam.

@ Mr Knowledge. Rubbish! Is the company yours? It's spam. they call one of my numbers from time to timeand it has never been given to any company! You clearly have dealing with it.

caller was arnold clark automated service, had service done there friday so it adds up !

They called my mobile, my phone did not ring it simply went to "you have a call waiting, press any key to answer". I pressed the Red Cut off button. If I had answered I think I could have been connected to a scam that make me pay up to £50 a min. These scams are normally from outside UK and we cannot stop them.
Its time the phone companies took action.

Clearly from reading above there are many companies who abuse the advantages of this method of contact. Arnold Clark obviously do not trust their staff and chose to carry out satisfaction survey.
In respect to school absence and matters affecting groups connected with the school is a good idea as long as the school identifies itself in the message.
I have been made aware of my child failing to register and sudden required closure of school. To remind of payment due is surely an abuse of service?
