- SuuSI just got called by this number (+12345678) (i'm from the netherlands)
Someone from this number also called me last night, but then it showed the number +3112345678.
Very strange. I didn't pick it up..
*spooky*
I have KPN-Hi. - rick271828when someone uses skype to call you, this is the default
caller id you will see in the usa. - LxSuus, I also have KPN Hi and had to calls from this number. Didn't pick up of course, and will now try to block this number from reaching me. Hi are a bunch of pricks so you won't get any help from them finding out what all of this is about.. But it seems a Dutch KPN problem anyways.
- ADJust had a call from this number. Didnt pick up and no message left.. I'm on Oange PayMonthly..
- JasonThis number is for O2 if you are late with ur bill.
- Caller: O2
- hmmmmmi am on o2 contract, and probably did not pay my bill, still...dont know who called, no message left, strange number
- odkfnI went for std test 3 days ago and had a missed call from this number at 10am (was in a lecture and couldnt answer!!) was [***] it thinking it was them haha.
Anyway though, if you link your phone to a computer there are several hacks that mean you can phone people and you can choose what number comes up when you phone, so realistically this number could be anyone, or any number of different people.
I also tried to phone back, but obviously its not a real number.
Next time they phone i'll man up and answer and let y'all know what or whom it is. And hopefully i'm std free...!!!! - Alfred WazGot a call from this number this morning...
Refused the call and then listened to the recorded message...
It was from EDF Energy...
Looking back at the comments made it looks like 012345678 is a kinda default display number from people who need to contact you, but don't want their number or 'Withheld Number' displaying...- Caller: EDF Energy
- Alistair Stephens| 1 replyHello everyone who has posted to this forum,
The caller ID 12345678 is actually just a default for a telephone circuit when the actual caller ID has failed to get through to your phone.
The problem with caller ID is that it is not 100% reliable. You will always pass the caller ID when the call is made, but sometimes when the call has to go through several networks, such as with ported numbers, it gets lost and goes to a default.
The calls here from O2, EDF, Tiscali, KPN, Look Again, Welcome Finance are all totally genuine calls. They are just trying to get in touch with you by the quickest most effective means, the phone.
I know this as I work for the company that makes the calls. - NicolaYes Alistair, of course you do

- murphyi had a call from this no. ( indian accent ) saying they were from "windows head office" stating that i had a "VIRUS" and my PC was corrupt, we will sort this from here, just put "LOGIN123.COM" into search bar, press enter, etc etc.i obviously did not do that because it then gives them acsess to your PC, they then went on to say, "for a fee of £29" we will keep your PC free of all virus for a whole year, just give us your "CREDIT CARD DETAILS", that is what they are after so they can empty your account, i just kept them on the phone by making out i did not understand them in the end they hung up.
- MogalokiGot a call from this number at 6.10pm. Strange number in that it corresponded to the local area code here (Dublin, Ireland) but still looked dodgy given the fact that it was so sequential.
Woman with an Indian accent on the phone telling me that I had malicious software on my computer. I have had a similar call to this one from another number that was equally as dodgy. As posted above, they are fishing for credit card details or in some cases, looking to gain remote access to your p.c. Don't give any access or details obviously.
I tried to keep the girl on the line for as long as I could but, as my partner stated, she obviously understood the sarcastic tone, if not the language that I was using. Must be details that were bought from hacking groups or simply shared by the lovely multi nationals who top up their profits by selling our information on.- Caller: YourPC Malicious Software
